anyone ever tried one of these? Are they good. My fella and I don't like our current mattress and want a new one.

It takes two weeks to get used to one. After that, they are the FRIGGING BOMB. I love them.

If you are really into weights, or just a bigger guy in general (denser, not fatter), you have pressure points that can make you uncomfortable in the nights anyway. Being able to sink into the mattress some and distribute pressure points makes an incredible difference.

hmmm...how about a curvy little chick? LOL.

Thanks for the info! I may give one of these a run.

Try it out.
If you like a very soft mattress you may not like it.

Get the 10" not the 8"

Oh and to help you out - at cost a queen 8" set is about $800
I used sell a shit load of these things.

You can get it with or without a box spring but unless you have a platform bed a good one (slats close together and smooth) you need one.

Last I heard they were coming out with new models...

I remember something about how it voids all the matress guarantees and such if you don't use the TP box springs tho -- is that true?

Cool, is the Tempurpedic box springs any different than other box springs? I need to buy the TP box springs if I have a box spring that is in really good condition?

what is going to be new about the upcoming models?

Thanks for your help!

OMG, you're totally right there is something like that, I forgot - I don't remember the details but the warranty is pretty good from what I remember - it steps the longer the time the less it covers but the warranty is really long.

They do sell them without their box spring - they had funny names for how they were sold - ACH - it will come to me.

Have you tried the pillows?

They have the solid ones and the solid shell with the foam pieces inside. I had liked the latter but them seemed so heavy to me - I couldn't bring myself to buy any - at cost they were already like $75.

The foam one that was shaped like a conventional pillow was just too big for me. The "cervical support" ones worked reasonably well. I need little or no pillow anyway -- sometimes I just roll-up a hand towel and put it behind my neck anyway.

I have a down pillow that I have to have at night or I am grumpy...lol.

I met a deliver for some once - the pair of twins had box springs -they are all wraped in the terry fabric - I admit they are really well done

AND REALLY HEAVY

The king size one I don't recall there being any box spring.

Ask them - mrplunkley's right there is a loop hole - I just can't remember it.

TP will send you info and samples - and dealer locators.

There's also a company called Lifekind ( http://www.lifekind.com/ ) that has Organicpedic if you have any allergies these are good too (this will be my next bed) I have bought a few of these for people, one person being my mother and she's hard to impress.

NO WAY.

I have 4 pillows - I sleep with 3

One is kinda lumpy - I lay on it if I'm reading or surfing on my belly.
I have kinda flat and one that's just perfect that I sleep with every night - hell I take the perfect on trips - I always squeeze it into my luggage.

You must spread some Karma around before giving it to velvett again.

I wasn't going to talk about the fact that I use 3 pillows as well 'cause I'd get labeled a "chick" here. The one I use for my head when I'm on my back or side has to be the flat one tho (or the rolled-up towel).

The top of the line tempur pedic? Normally, I think it is guache to inquire about cost, but do you mind my asking which size, whether you got the box spring, and the cost? If the cost question is offensize, you may ignore it.

;)

One of my clients is a furniture store. . .I stopped in for a visit last week and I layed on one of these mattresses. . .I bought one on the spot. . .un-fuggin-believable!!

Wow, thanks everyone for the advice! I'm out of my karma hits for the day, but I will hit you up when I'm refueled.

I have to get one of these matresses!

I don't mind at all. I had actually ordered myself the mattress and boxspring, but I also ordered a few other mattresses with the order for different bedrooms, so i'm not sure of the cost. IIRC, it was somewhere around $4000?
They won't discount terpurpedics and the other mattresses I got were discounted, so its hard to remember exactly what I paid for each.

It was their 12" one.

wow, that is pretty steep! I was hoping it was about $2000. hmmmm....now I'm all conflicted...lol.

i got the pillowtop one thats super thick, plus the boxspring though.
I'll see if I can find my receipt- maybe i'm off on the price but i'm pretty sure i'm close.

Unless you have a very grateful client in the furniture business. . .he offered to have one "fall off the truck" for me but I insisted on paying something so he gave me a pretty decent discount.

Good, but nothing compared to a sleep number bed from Select Comfort
Seriously, or are you kidding? I have a hard time telling on the internet...lol.

Sadly, my profession kind of frowns on that type of thing plus I just got done reading him the riot act for skimming money from his business. . .if a mattress fell off the truck in my front yard I'd be kind of a hypocrite. . .bummer.

Ok, i just looked- $3,800 and I got 2 pillows.
hmmmm...it is just at the price level that makes you waiver back and forth. I will have to sell the fella on the idea, too. His back is really hurting though from our mattress, so I think he is game to splurge on this mattress. LOL.

lol...i was just being silly. I know you wouldn't do something like that. =-)

With my back I really was considering a TempurPedic, then I read about occasional off-gassing problems and I'm the original canary in a coal mine, I don't think it affects everyone but if there's any chance at all it sure as shit will affect me. I do have a TempurPedic pillow (second hand).

Hubby wants to get the Sleep Number bed, too, only problem with them, as far as I know, is that if they fail you're out of a bed for a little while until they get over to repair/replace yours. I actually think this would probably be best for me, anyway, something really firm.

no seriously, they're the ultimate bomb.

you should see the sofa sleepers they sell now too :p

i have one, i love it. i also have a pillow. i sleep like a baby on it. not tried humping on it though. its not springy so i dunno how that will be.
