Telling your doctor you use roids...

Can your doctor goto the police or anything if you tell him your using steroids? I don't think he would be able to because it is a private issue? Hell I dunno... input? Thanks bros

Your doctor isn't supposed to tell anyone about your personal health info. However, I have heard stories of people telling their doctor they juice then finding out later that he told other people that had no business knowing. As far as telling the police, he shouldn't be able to, and if he does I think you can sue for breaking confidentiality.

I don't think they can get you in any legal trouble, but they can and will tell your insurance company.

Never thought about that before. Makes sense though, because the insurance co. has access to your health records.

If you tell you doctor information that is reasonably related to rendering a medical diagnosis or recommending treatment, you are probably covered by physician-patient privilege. It's no different than you telling him that you use cocaine and will continue to do so, but you want to monitor your health.

Your biggest problem may be if your visits are covered by a health plan. As part of the contract that you signed, there is probably a clause stating that you waive the privilege in the event of any dispute with either the physician or the company.

Somebody posted a good thread about how to approach this situation. I can't remember who did, but you may want to search for it.

i think that is the main issue...would i tell my doc..hell no!

As for myself, I'm on moderate dose gear and I'd like to get blood tests but don't want it to be put down in my permanent records. I already told the doc in the past that I smoked (hardly any now, tho) so I don't know what to do. I was thinking about just saying to the doc "Can I tell you something if you promise not to write it down anywhere or tell anyone?" Then say something like it's medical related and does not directly hurt anyone else.

So does standard bloodwork to check the health of your liver, kidneys, pancreas, etc. also check your testosterone level?

I have had the same doc for 10-15 yrs and tell him everything. I always have him check blood b4 and after a cycle. He's really cool about it. I trust him.
