IMHO, single leg work is often overlooked in the body builders work out. I've never really understood this 1 goal mindset. SIze, size, and more size. It's like nothing else matters, except size. If size is what your looking for, your not going to find it with the lunge.
If you want to be functional, than lunges are great.
