Weird,I went to a health store and looked in their supp dictionary and it explained taurine as a supp used for hypertension and heart disease, also BP,didn't say anything about cramps. And I just did a google search on it and it says the same thing.nothing about cramps everything about hypertension and circulatory, and for heart disease. Also go to www.darkdog.com/whatistaurine.html That will give a good explanation of taurine.
^^ it is true, in Japan Taurine is prescribed/administered to alleviate hypertension; an even more efficient way to administer Taurine is Acamprosate (n-acetyl-homo-taurine) but it's efficacy for hypertension has not been established as it is currently undergoing trials in Europe for alcoholism.
Taurine (mimics effects of Mag) acts to control cellular fluid flux as well (both in periphery and CNS), NMDA antagonist (anxiolytic) and vasoldilator.
