I agree with Dial_tone. I have one. I have to set it on the "athlete setting" even though I don't meet the cardio requirements.
It is supposed to be more accurate between 4 to 6pm. You should urinate before measuring too.
That said. Mine has been showing me anyplace between 17% and 10% over the last week. Last caliper check I was 7.5% and I have way more viens now!
I still like the machine though. It is deadly accurate with wieght. The bf% is more of a snap shot for me. I use it for motivation!
They're made for no-one, and are most accurate when the Moon and Mercury are aligned in a 47 degree angle with Pluto on the fifth Tuesday of February. Endurance athlete or not, they are only useful for couch potatoes that don't care if the reading is 5-10% off at any given moment.
I have yet to meet anyone - bodybuilder, marathon runner, gay bar bartender - anyone for whom they were accurate at least twice in a row.
They suck! Get an accumeasure for $25 and learn how to do an illiac sample. You may be off a little bit depending on your site selection, but normally they are really good and its the consistency that matters when looking to improve!
mine sucks. I just use it for the weight now. I think it works well as long as you want your lbs measured , I thought it was good until I had my bf tested and it was off about 6 or 7 percent for me, I cant remember exactly.
