Not just with bodybuilding and strongman, but any other sport where height is listed, you should ealy only say for sure when you stand next to the person. Most people's listed height is total bullshit.
I am 5'11", I played football through high school and college and was "listed" at 6'1" and sometimes 6'2". I have seen many pro wrestlers and some athletes in person and working out at gyms and i came up with my own personal interpretation of listed heights:
5'5"-5'8" = 5'10"
5'9-5'10= 6'
5'11-6' = 6'1 or 6'2
6'1-6'2 = 6'3-6'4
6'3-6'4 = 6' 6
6'5 and over = a free for all and an insult to the public's intelligence. I once met a wrestler listed at 7' and he couldn't have been a hair over 6'6" CAUSE HE WAS STANDING NEXT TO MY TRAIING PARTNER AT THE TIME WHO IS 6'6" and was about the same height.
A lot of times a scale of how to gauge is thrown off because everybody's height is blown up. I generally don't think too many pro bodybuilders are very tall. Lee priest is listed at 5'4, so thats the tallest he can POSSIBLY be, when you look at pics of shows all the guys listed at 5'10 or 5'11 are just a little taller than him, personally at 5'11 I know I tower over anybody who is 5'4.
Just a tidbit, I have met Greg kovacs at a supplement store some years back, and he is a legit 6'1", no taller than that though, but his frame is just enormous, boggest head i have even seen on a human.
Hulk hogan is about 6'4
Ferrigno is around 6'3
Ronnie Coleman is about 5'9
Kane of the WWE is the 7 footer who is about 6'6
Undertaker is 6'6
Scott Steiner is 5'11
Bradshaw is not exaggerated, he is abut 6'6
Brock Lesnar is legit, he's 6'3
Kurt Angle is 5'10
Ron Simmons/Farooq is about 6'3
these are the more famous names I have seen recently, just thought some might find it interesting.
Also, I don't know how to delicately word this because I know it is a sensitive issue, and I don't want to burst anyone's Arnold worshipping bubble, but he ain't 6'2" in a pair of ice skates. To be delicate, Sergio Oliva is 5'10", look for pics and see them side by side and figure out how tall Arnold is......again, this is the gentlest way I can put it.
