Talking to the Doc about Steroids

n1tro

New member
I have a doctor appoinmtment tommorrow regarding the acne on my shoulders. For those of you that go to the doctor regularily and he knows about your steroid use what was he like when you first told him?

I've been going to this guy for a couple years now but we've never spoke about steroid use. He prolly has assumptions but has not asked me about it. The reason I'm worried about telling him is that he's a really good doctor and if he tells me to stop using steroids I'm not going to listen. Possibly he will tell me to find a new doctor if I refuse to take his advice about quitting, which would really suck.

Very rare do they ask you to get a new doc. Try getting a sports doctor. They will usually help you instead of tell you to quit. But they're costly.

If he is a decent guy, I would highly doubt he would bail if you didn't follow his advice.
Really. Would he dump his obese patients that didn't follow a healthy diet?

Well I'm in canada so it doesn't cost a thing to see the doctor. I just think the obsese situation is different from using steroids. I'm just a little concerned how he is going to react. I don't want to listen to a half hour lecture on why I shouldn't be doing steroids if you know what I mean.

If your are under insurance, don't yell him. If he ask, tell him you are using some otc product like androstenedione or 1-test. Now if you are paying full for that, without insurance, tell him the truth, and explain him that this is part of your life and you can't change it.
