There's a 30 day grace period by law - whatever company you worked for that did this wasn't following the law....

yea my company had 30 days to sent the paperwork so cobra would send me the shit

they waited till the last day on purpose so i gotta pay 2 months to start.....8 bills

$400.00 a month isn't THAT bad, depending upon the coverage.

I had a client who had a 1/2 hour wrist operation and 5 hours TOTAL in the hospital......$35,000.00

I'd rather pay the $400.00

Yeah that is to make the first payment, but after that if you are late one day, they will drop you. Happened to me 5 years ago, I almost got fooked.

Damn, that's a great price for cobra! Our insurance with the job (no Cobra) is $389 every two weeks! lol

oops, $389 twice per month. Still sucks. No vision, damnit!

Holy shit! I'd stay on cobra forever. lol I think the cobra for ours was $1100 month. Not too far from $800 month they want now for this insurance.

old insurance was Blu cross
Now it's Healthnet.

Where the hell do you live? $400/month for cobra. Fuck! Can I borrow $6?

Wow. I'm now feeling more grateful towards the company I work for - $35 a month for Health Plan of Nevada - HMO. Co-Payments keep going up ($150 for a CAT scan), but not so it'll bankrupt anyone.

If you COBRA Family coverage for my company's health plan, it's around $1350/month. That's just medical/vision w/ a $500 deductible/$30 copay.

People always bitch and moan about premiums, they just don't know what the company is actually paying to get their ass insurance....

Nah, I wasn't referring to you about bitching and moaning, more like the employees at my company. I work in HR so I get all the complaints, just want to tell them to shut the fuck up and ask them if they'd rather pay the full premium like some companies make their employees do.....

Oh yeah, I remember a thread you made about coming back to work and them making you leave and go get a doctor's release before they would let you work.

What happened with that job? Quit?

You should be able to submit those prescriptions and get reimbursed now that you are covered. They have to retro cover you back to day 1 so it's like you never a lapse in coverage....
