taking the law into your own hands?

Can you think of any reasons or situations where it would be acceptable to take the law into your own hands to seek justice?

someone did something terrible and the law is not going to do anything do you think that depending on the situation a person would be justified to take matters into there own hands?

this is all for a fictional story im writing btw :)

sure there are plenty.....if any one ever messed with my children...i dont think i would even let the law enforcment get involved i would kill the s.o.b first!!!!!

Yeah, if someone hurt one of my kids, me or my husband would go to jail. It would probably be a race to see who could get to the muthafu first.

Not saying it is the right way to handle the problem but I think that is why some people blow up abortion clinics because they think america has make murder legal.

i am a member of my family before i am a citizen. as such, i will do what i think is appropriate regardless of any law...and for my family i could do a lot worse than kill. easily.

great i was hoping for some comments like "relax things will take care of themselves"
"dont do it its not worth it"

this is a family situation too btw

very very fustrating situation

time to get a shovel...

In Canada we have a law the prevents you from being prosecuted if you are under emotional duress (commonly called the "Nag law"). Originally, I believe, it was set in place for instance where you came upon something so horrific you just "snapped" (eg found the farmhand ass-fucking your wife in the barn while laughing at you and you kill them both with a pitch-fork and burn down the barn.)

Lately however this law has turned into a rare defense whereby you are "nagged" to the point of furious and uncontrolable rage. One instance a fellow and his wife (ex?) drove from Kelowna (or Kamloops?) to Vancouver. The fellow claims his wife screamed at him and denegrated him all the way there (after years of the same behavior on and off), so he stabbed her over 40 times. Apparently he beat the charges (more or less) by using this defense. I guess he was nagged into violence (all women should read this case!).

Hence, taking the law into your own hands is acceptable in some rare cases in this country provided you find your hired hand humping your child after you get home from hunting and happen to have a loaded deer-rifle in your hands already and turn his neck into a stump.

It's usually considered very risky as a defense strategy (almost like the American "Twinkie-defense"). It almost never works.

It's an interesting law we have though.

That is an interesting law. And I could see being used effectly if a parent caught some pedophile messing with their child. I think jail is too good for them suckers they would be dead. Or if some dude raped my wife I would should them in the dick first and let them suffer for a while before putting a bullet in his head to finish him off.

umm ya guys selling drugs to my little brother and then the casino is selling them to all under age kids. oh wait thats The Rock in Walking Tall

Yeah, for me if someone fucks with the family, then I will take care of the problem myself. If I end up in jail, so be it, but I will do what I have to do.

a 21 year old 135 lb kid pulled a glock 9mm on me in trafic one day (long story) But I eventually ripped it from his hands and beat the ever loving shit out of him 'till the cops came.

That's a kid who shouldn't have a glock in the first place.

There was a story about a guy who killed a man who touched his son. Guy waited outside of the court house by a pay phone, saw pedophile, shoots and kills pedophile, drops gun while dropping to knees with hands behind his head. He was acquitted. I'd do the same regardless of the verdict I would get.

If someone did something to my niece they had better pray that the police get them into custody before I found them. And if they were aquitted in court then yes I would take it into my own hands.

Agree on the family thing and the pedophile thing....

Also, if I saw women getting raped.....there would definetly be some coitus interuputus.
