Alaska salmon fishing looks like it may be on the back burner for a while.
The following pictures are of Theodore Winnen who is an airman for the 18th Fighter Squandron at Eielson Air Force base.
He was hunting deer on Hinchinbrook Island in Alaska . A large grizzly bear charged him from about 10 yards away. The guy unloaded a .338-caliber Winchester Magnum Semi-auto into the bear and it dropped a few feet from him.
It was over one thousand two hundred pounds,and 10' 6" from nose to tail. It's front claws were three to four inches long. It's not a world record though.
Think about it. This thing could eat your ass and want seconds!
