Swimming with no lifting while cutting???

My gym membership just ended and im trying to decide if i should renew it or not. My goal is to lose fat. Im considering joining a pool and swimming 5x a week for cardio. Provided that i clean my diet up, will I lose strength and muscle from not lifting? What im asking is how necessary is lifting while cutting to preserve muscle?

YOU NEED TO LIFT. Well thats if you want to keep your muscle. Swimming can help you loose a lot of fat. But keep your heart rate in mind.

You definately need to lift, try to get in a good 3 days of lifting along with a clean diet. maybe you can take a few jogs down the street to keep your cardio up.

Well make sure you do your legs! Squats are one\ if not THE best workout for your body. This is a common mistake.

yea i know....I love legs squats especially. I just have no squat rack. How the hell can i get the weight up there.. I guess i could do it from my bench. But its gonna be scary. Im on the 2nd floor. If i drop 315 from 6ft theres gonna be some major problems. Maybe ill build one out of wood and put it outside.

ditto x 10

you have to lift to maintain or gain muscle. swimming will most likely make you lose muscle quite fast.

That is the only way to preserve muscle. Without the stimule, your body will turn on itself in not time bro.

Lift
