Do you have a favorite? I need to write a 20 pager for class. I need to argue both sides. I cool with tha work. Jus don't wanna be bored.

Do you have an area of law that you're interested in?

No. That's the bad part bc my dad is super lawyer. I have always been more of a science junkie. I am just required to take this class for my political science credits.

I like crim pro, so I would probably do Katz (not ok for govt to use electronic equipment to listen in on a dude's convo in a phonebooth without warrant), Kyllo (not ok for government to use a thermal imager without warrant to see if dude is growing pot in his garage), Jacobsen (entrapment and kiddie porn).

Another case that you could easily argue both sides of is Bd. of Educ. of Indep. School Dist. No. 92 v. Earls, which says that it is ok for schools to drug test kids in extracurricular activities.

You might like Kyllo because it is all about how to balance the preservation of 4th Amendment rights with rapidly advancing technology. Be sure to read Stevens' dissent.

I totally agree with you on the No go for the Roe Vs. Wade as it will be all too common. Something new is great!

I like your topic #2 (school district Vs. earls...This sounds like it would be a great topic to write about.

Stefka babes you are awesome when it comes to school work!

boring but the one that said a local government can take private property for the use of other private people (like walmart) if considered in the public interest

I  school. It is going to suck when I graduate in 10 weeks. I guess I'll have to go back for a PhD.

I am beginning to wonder if I am the same way. Let's see how many degrees I can get kinda gal!

You will miss it when it is over, funny as when we were children we couldnt wait for it to end!! But it left me with an empty gap. More psychological as far as not feeling accomplished, I think.

My mother was in her 40's when she finally called it quits with a masters degree in business management. She also did half of the nursing program, accounting, medical billing, and at one point focused her schooling on becoming a school teacher. I think she was having a hard time with not going to school, maybe felt that she was not important enough without the school or whatever. I just don't want to end up like her, LOL. 80,000 in debt, OUCH!!!!

I agree, Kyllo would be of choice. Though I know I am not the smartest book in the library, I personally have some thoughts of my own on this case and I just think it is plain wrong. I won't jump in my past but this is another classic example of Big Government watching our every move.

But Kyllo held that the police CANNOT use the thermal imaging device without a warrant. This effectively made thermal imaging devices useless, because they were initially intended to gather sufficient evidence to establish probable cause to search (in order to get a search warrant). If the police had a search warrant, they wouldn't waste their time with the thermal imaging device, they'd just go in and look for the pot.

I love school. I am on my 3rd trip. I just don't dig on law classes. After growing up with daiy cross examinations and debates at the breakfast table and marrying a cop(we all know how well that's working out), I guess I am kinda ate up when it comes to law. No thanx.

ok. We are getting some good ideas. I can argue about anything. I just don't want to pick the same case as half the class. If I do, I gotta make it a lil better.

John Roberts upheld that Marijuana for Medical Patients can't be confiscated, taken by State Authorities, just cause they don't like stoners.
December 3.
Some one will hit this up to, though.

Now, if they can just create a law, that states when u hide weed in your home, but do not live with your parents, and say, your mom, who love her to death means well, and is not one to be trifled with ganks it out of your printer, where you thought no one would ever, ever look. This happened just outside SF too, that she should have to return said green.
Oh well... I don't smoke anymore, but yeah... when you are used to green before bed, and then its gone... makes for long nights.

Maybe I should go to law school just for you. You may need me to defend you against said mother if it ever goes to court. My father once woke me up (on a Sunday morning) with drug dogs in my room. Good tymes.....

LOL, only you.
One uppage. Yeah... Wow.
Drug Dogs... I bet they are so not friendly, being hooked on alot of stuff.
Kibbles and Bits, just not the same after you detect a pound of pure Venezuelan Hash, and then 3 hours later bust a Kilo of Uncut YaYo in some dude's tire or whatever.
Feel for the Drug Dog. Then after a hard days work, i bet they can't sleep, and when they do, they dream of the busts they had that day.
Must be hard to be a Drug Dog or Crime Dog for that matter, the Bloodhound that wears the trench.
He looks burnt out.
