Supplements..

I have to comment re: period symptoms..... I have ALWAYS had HORRIBLE period symptoms: lots of pain, bloating, etc....

BUT -- now that I'm eating better the majority of the time & have lost some bf, etc.....my symptoms are greatly reduced..... Last time -- I had NO breast soreness, NO bloating and very little cramping....

Hang in there -- it may take some time -- but you'll get there...

Exactly -- you shouldn't be retaining water on an ongoing basis. So no reason to supplement on-going w/ a diuretic. Further, despite having owned full kitchen counter-tops full of supplements that require at least 4 swallows of handfuls of pills, but simpler is better.

Here's a really interesting change I've seen -- I've been taking the 1 pill dose of a Whole Foods Market brand multi for a while, in addition to seperate Vit E & selenium, recommended by my chiro for my back, folic acid & garlic because they are good for blood pressure, CLA (because I had some), a thyroid support (because I wanted to try it), Vit C & echinecea (because it was cold season), glucosamine/chondroitin & MSM for my various tendonitis pains, r-ala & some other stuff as good anti-ox's and probably some other stuff. Required four handfuls of pills & 4 big swallows to get it all down.

On the new regimen, I'm taking prenatal vitamins, r-ala & MSM/glucosamine. My hair & nails are growing noticably better since I started the prenatals 2.5 weeks ago.

But simpler is better. If your diet doesn't meet most of your vit / mineral needs, then you should be looking at your diet as well. Or perhaps make sure you do a "detox diet" or just take an extended break from a highly restricted diet (i.e. competition diet) to let your body get all those things it needs for a while.

And anything like stimulants should be cycled on / off as well.
