Supersets...

How often do you guys incorporate supersets (performing 2 excercises back to back) into your routine?? And what muscle groups do you use???

Even so often when doing arms I`ll do supersets.Frist I will do a set of tris then when in done right away I will do bis .I will do this for the whole workout using different exercises.Let me tell you bro there is no other pump in the world that your arms will ever fell. Try it out and tell me if you have any luck.

I occasionally superset antagonists.More work in less time without getting tired plus the neurological benefit.

i like to hit back and abs as a superset such as back extensions and stiff legged situps. another one that i incorporate is light tricep pushdowns and heavy extensions to the chin.

Maybe this is a compound set rather rather than superset but:

- dumbell flyes immediately followed by wide dip to failure, i like this one so much i try to include them always for pecs

By The Way..

I know supersets are proven to work, but my question is HOW? It seems to me all they would do is build up lactic acid in the muscle, and wear it out quickly causing you to lift less weight. Would someone be kind enough to enlighten me on this? THANX

Just another way to increase the intensity...

I don't view it as a way to increase intensity.

Usually even minor changes will leave you with a great deal of strength. Even just changing grip.

It allows you to do so much more volume which is a plus. It also saves time.

Is there any info backing it though? Recruiting fibers, blood flow, etc... I would really like to know what i am actually doing when i do supersets.

What do you want to know?

It's like going from one exercise to another but without rest.

There's nothing magical about it.

Except for intrappeditative adenosine residue synthesis resulting in massive supecompensation! ;)

I do think that supersets (for the same muscle group) can be effective for a short period of time. It is almost like doing a dropset for me...

I used to use supersets to pre-exhause my quads or hams and I would also superset flat bench press with incline dbell flyes...

Use in moderation...

Would like to see Cornholio's thoughts on this...

I recently started doing supersets on my bi/tri day.
It's a hell of a workout and i can see more definition as a result.

Do you superset bi with tric? Or do you do a super set of biceps then do a superset of triceps?
