Superman next summer

If anybody can pull this off, it seems to be Singer.

Im just concerned since he is basically doing a remake of Superman I, as opposed to an actual sequel.

But, hey, it worked for Batman Begins.

Before 'Superman Returns', TV Documentary To Air

Director Bryan Singer has called upon documentary maker Kevin Burns -- not to be confused with fellow documentary maker Ken Burns -- to make a TV documentary about the origins and evolution of Superman. Burns has made a number of documentaries about Hollywood subjects, including Cleopatra: The Film That Changed Hollywood and Empire of Dreams: The Story of the Star Wars Trilogy. The plan is to complete the new film and put it on the air before the scheduled June 30, 2006 opening of Warner Brothers' Superman Returns, then to package it as an "extra" in the DVD package later in the year.

I have mixed feelings...

Christopher Reeve had the look and he seemed to be in the right age range to play the part. The kid that I had seen being selected for the New "Superman Returns" movie kinda looked like a gay porn actor. He was way too young looking, and had a very, very slight build.... Not saying that Reeve wasn't a pretty boy or so jacked up,....(nothing wrong w. pretty boy...) but the man Reeve was over like 6' 3/4, had a good masculine feature(s) good build for a guy not onto weights and 225lbs or better, lean enough. This kid for the new movie looks like a young kid that hasn't hit his puberity...and a little too much of a fem look going on. (example of fem: Nip/Tuck series,..."the son")

Other than that, I think they need to "butch" up some of these actors. I suspect it may be a good movie hoping I'm wrong...

The bigwigs seem to have high hopes for it though. The cable deal has been made before six months before the movie hits theaters.

FX Flies With Superman Rights

FX has bought the cable TV rights to Bryan Singer's upcoming Superman Returns movie six months before it hits theaters on June 30, Variety reported.

The network has agreed to pay Warner Brothers Domestic Cable about 12 percent of the eventual domestic gross, with a cap at between $17 million and $25 million, depending on the contract's length of term and on whether Warner finds another buyer to share the window with FX, the trade paper reported. The network gets the first burst of Superman runs in its TV premiere early in 2009, the trade paper reported. FX declined to comment to Variety.
