Sugar Busters Diet

Has anyone had any experience with this diet? I've looked over the book and it seems much easier to follow than an Atkins or a CKD type plan. Not as much measuring and counting. I think it's mostly based on avoiding certain types of carbs.

I've spent most of this year bulking - with ok results - but I'm getting tired of buying new pants. Time to lose the tire.

Thanks

The book is not worth the paper it's printed on; I'll tell you what it is in a few words: cut out all sugar from your diet (simple sugar). Basically, you can still get fat and stay fat w/ that idea in mind b/c complex carbs are still carbs and will still convert to glucose at one time or another - so the whole idea is flawed. For the average joe, YES; for a bodybuilder, probably no.

Thanks Mr. X.

I'm reading up on CKD right now. It's looking promising. In one of your posts you mention 1 refeed day and in another I think you mention 2 refeed days.

I tend to spend my weekends in a... very hungry state... and 2 refeed days is much more apealing. Would it work?

Usually there are two forms of a modified ketogenic diet: 5 day low carb/ 2 day refeed, and 6 day low carb/ 1 day refeed. You would choose either depending on your goals - for a leaner individual the 5/2 is in order but if you're 15% and above, the 6/1 is best.
