stupid problem!

I was ready to do my 5x5 today, when my progressive weight procedure came to a halt. I work out at home, by myself. SO after adding a pair of 2.5lb plates to each DB for my seated dumbbell press, I couldn't get the weights into the starting position!! I'm sure I can press it, but it's a matter of getting the weights from sitting in my lap to waiting byside my head. Grrrr....

I have had this problem with the 30s for seated presses as well. i tried to get them up there but failed miserably thereby looking very stupid. then i heard about (and later saw) the trick about nudging them up there with your knee/thigh. havent tried that one yet tho. good luck

Use the knee lift way, just don't try to throw them up with arm strength alone. That is asking for an injury.

Yeah, I thought thought about the clean while standing then sit. I mean I thought of it like an hour ago, long after haha. And yes, Id rather add a pair of 1 1/4s but the smallest I have is 2.5s.

Just remember these tips next time. I don't think I've ever encountered a weight i couldn't throw up with my knees.. but I dont do seated anything with a dumbbell anymore. Probably been at least six months, ouch.
