Just remember, If the assistance exercises hinder your pressing performance, lower the volume on assistance work-but keep frequency up.
So if u do 3 sets laterals 2x a week but your overhead press suffers, cut the laterals to 2 sets each week

I would agree with you if strength was the goal for his ohp. From what I understand his goal is size. Therefore the accessory work needs to be high volume. You need lots of blood flow for growth, and pre-exhuastion and super sets will do it. Doing ohp with less than 8 reps should be done minimally if you want size. If your goal is to PR in the ohp than drop the volume and increase the weight.
