Very intersting when a Bodybuilder incorporates some PLifting techniques. Specifically, Grip variation. In the case of Overhead presses my wieght has actually increased by squeezing the bar very hard at the onset of the set. I could feel the squeeze engage my forearms which actually made the wieght feel lighter.
I noticed this as well doing skulls the other day. It is puzzling to me then to see why so many neglect doing direct forearm work.
I hit my forearms directly twice a week. Over the last 3-4 years it has helped indirectly and directly in all my lifts. I think its important to point out that especially in the case of newbies, grip strength is essential and should coincide with increases in wieght with other lifts. Every pressing and pulling movement you do requires your hands, dont let them be the weakest link in the chain. Peace
