I've only been working out for 6 months, stretch marks are starting to appear, mostly on my tricep area. Too bad there wasnt something to get rid of them, oh well, being big isn't easy I guess.

I have been using that coco butter crap for pregnant women with stretch marks and it doesnt seem 2 be doing anything. I have had them for a couple months now, faded slightly but not by much. I guess it's just a long drawn out process.
My doctor said they will eventually fade but he didn't mention anything about them disappearing completely.

Stretch marks are scars. They wont go completely, but like other scars, they can fade and go pale. Steroids favor them, and anything that bloats you up. Um.

I have so many on my triceps and where the pectorals meet the arms.
Got some on my back too.

I used to past a solution made by my dermathologist, combining Vit E and an acid which I cannot remember the name + a solution made of retinoic acid.
Today, I only use baby oil which prevents new ones from forming.

From about grade 9 I lost a bit of weight and got stretch marks on my hips a little bit. They started out purplish, now they are smaller and white, so I don't believe they completly go away, tanning must help a lot, im sure every MR.O Has tonnes?

iliketolift, I'm new here but you seem to be one of those people at the gym that walk around looking at your self in the mirror and smiling at your self like your hot shit. Is that you?

Stretch marks are permanent... and it's the underlying layer that is being stretched so I'm not sure topical creams do anything. There's a bunch of BS about all kinds of treatments helping but there I found something clinical and it said there is no proven way to remove or reduce stretch marks. Perhaps some extreme plastic surgery... but I read even laser is BS. My mother claims using cocoa butter while she was pregnant prevented stretch marks. My stretch marks on my ass aren't from muscle from from growth spurts, Recently haven't had problems with stretch marks yet (*knock on wood*) Perhaps I will get some cocoa butter... most likely it'll be purely psychological! :)

They claim more women in the placebo group had scaring and more extreme scaring when it occured. It "might" be real. Perhaps I will investigate further and if I find something cheap and proven I'll post.

Anyways after the fact it's too late! Now you have to adopt the mindset of being proud of your scars. I've read of women being proud of their husbands scars! Perhaps I will from now on claim I got my stretch marks from extreme body building :)

EDIT: I just remembered something about reducing scaring if it was recent... completely forgot because my scars are about 10 years old at least. So if you wanna do something see a skin doctor or do some research ASAP. Complete reduction is still impossible I believe...

"Its not the truth. You are an asshole." You keep posting crap about yourself as if anyone cares. You could have simply asked "whats good for stretch marks?" But no, you had to add in the "man 'cause I'm so hyoooge I got them in 6 months on one spot in my triceps"

"There is no specific care for stretch marks. Advertised creams and salves to prevent stretch marks during pregnancy are of little value. However, the marks often will disappear after the cause of the skin stretching is gone. Avoiding rapid weight gain helps in the case of stretch marks caused by obesity."

Prevention of stretch marks
Research is contradictory. Most studies maintain that creams and lotions can't prevent stretch marks, but some trials have found significant successes with certain creams. Prevention suggestions include:
Eat sensibly to avoid gaining excess body fat.
Eat a highly nutritious diet to maintain the health of your skin.
Wear a supportive maternity bra throughout pregnancy.
Consider using creams that include centella asiatica extract, alpha tocopherol (vitamin E) and collagen-elastin hydrolysates

That being said here's some BULLSHIT that might work :)

However, many women have had significant success with creams that contain vitamin E and cocoa butter. Clinical trials have shown significant success with various prescription creams that contain tretinoin or retin A. These creams thin the epidermis (outer layer of the skin) and then penetrate the dermis (the middle layer where stretch marks develop) where they stimulate collagen growth.

As far as something you can buy... I found a all in one product with Vitamin E Vitamin A and Cocoa Butter (it even has Jojoba and Avacodo oils whatever those do...)

Also consider using creams that include centella asiatica extract, alpha tocopherol (vitamin E) and collagen-elastin hydrolysates...

heh... well that's enough of skin care products for one day. No idea what centalla asiatica extract or collagen-elastic hyrodlysates are....
