He used a a closed handed backfist, which struck him hard enough in the side of the neck and jarred his 1 and 2 vert. This sent a shock to his brain, which shut down his brain and knocked him out. Basically the same thing that happens when a boxer gets knocked out.

thats possible but i dont think that was what happened. Like someone said , he for a split second cut off oxygenated bloodflow to the brain, that will put you out instantly, not like a choke that gradually puts you out, a shot to the right area in the neck puts you out instantly.
