Breathe through your chest. If you breathe through your stomach then it will stick out.

yea it sticks out both in breathing in and breathing out motions.....

And on top of that I got this (what I think to be belly fat) right under my belly button and when I flex my abs it just stays there and it looks like a fricken lump, can't even suck it in. God I hate it my top 4 abs are pretty tight too never had this prob before.... Any suggestions, diet it away... god im at a low bf right now!!!

big69, how old are you? I know this bloating. I bet you have some pretty solid abs and calipers probably dont show a high bf. See, Im older and have always had solid abs and low bf but as I aged, intraabdominal fat slowly
developed over the years. Sometimes it seems like the bloating just comes on
from something, but in fact is added distension to food and liquids consumed
ontop of the intraabdominal fat. Also as soon as I start my daily gallon of water the bloat jumps out I believe because of the water trapped around it.

Carbs and glycogen definitely add to the bloat. I also believe that the amount of combined food and liquid Ive grown used to over the years has lead to a stomach stretched to accomodate my diet volume. Ever seen bushmen who eat very little but have distended abdomens? Its because when they do eat they feast for days as there is no way to preserve the meat. This is true as I leaned from Anthro courses.

Lastly, hernias, gradual over time have been a factor with some of my lower gut issues of which my doc has pointed out.

Sorry for the long post, but Im too looking for a solution to this. I as you probably dont feel comfortable and am constantly aware of it.

by bloating, do you mean your stomach bloats up painfully when you eat?
If thats the case, get digestive enzymes, they make all the difference

I was thinking I maybe have a hernia, but it doesn't hurt can I rule a hernia out if it doesn't hurt or is there still a possiblity

Sloburn I was also told that I have an hiatal hernia

Because the distenion just doesnt feel right and my bf, calories and activity level, I have too believe that the hernia is in some way partially resposible for
my and maybe your situation.

Ive had the full gamut of tests so there arent any other issues. I am in the
process of discussing with my doc what to do. The distension also gives some pain and discomfort at and below the naval region.

holy crap I just looked at google images of hernias..... Im almost 100 percent sure I have one. I dont know if that is good ( that I know why my stomach looks so bad) or bad (surgery) Damn how long does hernia surgery take? How long will I not be able to lift and will I be banned from certain movements.... because they will make it come bacK????

Ive had a very small ambilical hernia for about 16 years of lifting and it has not grown. In my case it is very small (it goes around the lower part of my belly button) and I did see a doctor. At the time the doc felt that it wasnt big enough to worry about so let it be, it seems he was right. I am surprised that the doctors did not pick up on a hernia when they examined you. If the hernia tore all the way through your wall you would be able to fell your abdominal wall linging (paratoneum) poking through, and you could poke it back inside. Maybe it is just slightly torn, but doesnt go all the way through yet.
