Did anyone else happen to see that news piece on CNN last night about a man who's son killed himself which the Dad blames on steroids? The Dad is crusading around the country giving talks to high school kids, etc about the dangers of steroids.

Well at one point in the interview, the Dad was like yeah my wife and I couldn't figure it out. Our son was constantly wanting bottle after bottle of mouth wash. He said now we realize what it was for. A main side effect of steroids is bad breath!! WTF?!?! I have NEVER heard of this mentioned anywhere. WTF do you all bros this of that shit??

Bad breath happens because of environment in mouth that promotes certain bacterial growth.

Bad breath (at all times) doesn't happen from bad oral hygiene.
It is overgrowth of bacteria in the mouth. It is caused if your oral secretions favor bacterial growth.
Just like you cannot control acne by washing your face repeatedly, the same way you cannot control bad breath by good oral hygiene.

I'm sure we will never know if this kid ever had a healthy family life. Journalists aren't that bright to even look in that direction, and the media just want a sob story for ratings to hook soccer mom's across America. One of the main causes for depression and suicide in adolescents is within the home. An inability to communicate feelings, neglect, or mental abuse. I wonder if this is the most the kid's father has ever paid attention to his son, in death. I heard this case many times and the kid was unfortunate not to have parents that would even listen to him. Suicide doesn't happen overnight. It's a progression over a long period of time. His father is a complete asshole.

BTW: bad breath is usually caused by gum/mouth disease, diet, and bulimia. Who knows if he didn't have a bad case of all 3.
