Starting my first cycle... suggestions, ideas, tips are appreciated!

Hello everyone! I've been lifting for strength naturally on and off for about 8 years. When I mean on and off, I really mean on and off. Workout for 3 months, take off 9, on for 2, off 5, on for 5, off 2, etc...

I've been lifting hard since December and I managed to best all my personal records I set in previous years. But i've missed the last 7 weeks or so due to illness and injury. But I don't plan to start my cycle the first day back at the gym. I plan to wait 4-5 weeks before anything.

I'm 5'7" 168lbs at my best and currently sitting at 164lbs.

I was hoping to do a cycle or two of Test E, 500mg once a week for 12 weeks stacked with arimidex (haven't decided if I should use .25mg, .5mg, or 1mg) from week 3 to 12 to counter gyno (my biggest fear, second being acne).

My diet would be mediocre, nothing fantastic but not a slob either. Make sure I get my share of nutrition while doing the best I can do keep my sugar and fat content low. That's why my diet falls in the middle.

My expectations are to gain 10lbs and look leaner than when I did at 168lbs. I was never shredded but I was never fat either. I can provide pictures for a better idea.

Just wondering what you guys thought... any tips? Suggestions? Ideas?

Twice a week at 250mg and id say run your anastrozole at .25 mg ED and you should be perfect. Some Tamoxen for 3 weeks after just to be safe and your test level should be fine. Id run it for 12 weeks!
 
Twice a week? Really? Can I ask the difference is between one shot of 500mg or two shots of 250mg? I thought Test E was a slow releasing testosterone so once a week would be more than enough.

I forgot to mention the Nolvadex for PCT. That was a part of my plan, just forgot to put it in there.

You think my goals are possible on this 12 week cycle? My type of lifting includes squat twice a week and deadlift once. Squat and deadlift are my main lifts. I do upper body but never really did a lot of isolated movements. I will though now that i'm gonna be doing a cycle.
 
You should inject your test e twice per week to keep the blood level stable. It would be considered a longer acting test, but it has a half life of about 4 days, therfore roughly every 4 days you should take a shot, or a shot on monday,then thursday and repeat every week. 0.5mg of arimidex EOD would be fine, or every day if you are very gyno prone. Dont forget to start taking the nolvadex 14 days after your last test shot. Yours goals are definetly attainable if you clean up your diet!!!
 
I turn 27 in July.

EOD means every off day, right? ED means everyday?

I could do the injection every 4 days or every Monday/Thursday. Whichever would be more effective.

I have no idea how gyno prone I am. I have never even taken a supplement, let alone steroids!

Let me ask you this about dieting then.

If I kept my diet the same once I started my cycle, in theory the Test E should enhance whatever I was originally doing, no?

So if I was pretty lean at 5'7" 168lbs and then decided to start my cycle of Test E/Arimidex but didn't change my diet. Kept it the same, what kind of "typical" results would you see then?

Sounds like you need to get your lifting and diet on solid, do tons of research in the mean time, then come back with your cycle questions.

What makes you think my lifting is half assed?
 
it sounds to me like you enjoy lifting heavy shit and enjoy food... nothing wrong with that imo... i'll be damned if i eat totally clean all the time... im much stronger at 12%bf then when i was shredded...
if you dont mind, what are you squatting and pulling? those are my lifts as well...
you can make those goals if you lift hard on the same diet... a 10lb gain and some lost bf is what i saw when i cycled, though im on trt now...

just keep im mind that when you come off, if you dont up the calories you will lose some strength... and you will gain back the bf over time, though the gained muscle will prevent that slightly through a raised metabolic rate...
you will also want to run a good PCT...
 
I am not a freak like you! haha Those are some impressive lifts Moya.

At 168lbs I squatted 315 for 12, deadlifted 380, 390, and 400 with 90 seconds in between for 5s, and benched 225 5x5 with 60 seconds in between. At this point in time, I have have only taken protein shakes. I haven't even taken an energy drink!

My PCT is gonna be Nolvadex for 3 weeks.

Losing and all that scares me, but that's why I only wanna do one cycle. I want to get a quick jump in some lifts and lean out a bit. Basically look more muscular overall while decreasing the chance to lose a lot of it once I come off. Hell, i'd be happy knowing all my lifts would go up and gained only 3-4lbs. The 10-15lbs is just a bonus. So that way i'd put on some size ya know?

But I always lift hard, effort in the gym is one of the few things I don't have to worry about. That's how I was raised in the gym when I started. Go hard or go home. Dr Ken Leistner's high intensity training has passed over a lot to my entire workout and everyday life (although I never did workout with him, he was kind of like my Uncle's mentor for a while). And like I said, I was DECENTLY lean at 168lbs, 6 pack showing, pretty muscular (not shredded by any means), and all that jazz. So that's why I figured jumping on Test E would kind of enhance what I already was.
