Starship Troopers

They showed that one over here a few days ago and I finally got it. Maybe because I´ve been gone from the US for so long.

The entire film is mocking the US. It was so obvious. I must be slipping a bit.

I couldn't sit through the whole movie it was so flat and lifeless. It was like the actors were reading off of cue cards.

Ever read the book?

Book? No.

Yeah, I can´t believe the academy snubbed some of the brilliant performances in that one. I thought the "Want to know more" propaganda stuff was very well done, however.

The book is wonderful. Ahead of it's time. The movie is a rape of the book in my opinion. It's cheesy.

I read an editorial about how it kinda mocked the Nazis, using primarily blonde haired blue, eyed characters with lots of propaganda movies.

Great movie though.

I agree, I thought it was a hell of a lot of fun, if not great cinema.

The book was great; if you like it, read 'Armor' by John Steakly (? is that right ?); I liked the movie too, but I like battle-fi; and well-done "B" camp movies.

the movie was ok...the effects and battles were fun. If you want great character development and acting, look someplace else. Havn't read the book, but like machine said "Armor" by John Steakly is good. Also, really liked his book "Vampires". The movie with James Woods wasn't bad but was no where near as good as the book.

The movie kicks ass!

Gotta watch it again! Thanks!

Although after 9/11 it is a bit sadder and not so happy as it used to be.
