st.johns wort

New member
i am having bad anxiety and depression problems, i want to try st.johns wort but i am on a cycle right now and i am worried it will interact with the gear, is it ok to take during a cycle?

Fuck that shit, you don't need it bro. Sorry to hear about that you're down, but it'll pass. Stay away from anything that's an anti-depressant, even if it's st.john's wort.

I use St John's wort on occasion. I'm going to start taking it again, cause I need a boost. Things are shitty at work right now and I've gotten my self into a bad rut.

I'm curious if it will interfere in any way.

Bump for an answer

I have had bad anxiety problems and st johns wort helped. It takes about 3-4 weeks to start working but it works. I also made a post about anxiety problems using vitamins to help, I have used that program and it really helps with anxiety. I'll see if I can fin it or you. E-mail me anytime, I know how bad anxiety is and it ain't fun.

I used St Johns wort during my last cycle as well and was very pleased with my results and I had no sides to speak of.

A recent study was published in the New England Journal of Medicine which proved St. John's Wart to have zero effects on depression or mood yet this was at consequence of its side effects which were moderate... compliments of Fox News.

IMHO, I think anything labeled as an antidepressant should be avoided like the plague....Herbal remedy or not.

I shared this with Mustang before:
I was on celexa for 2 years because of anxiety attacks. When I tried to come off, ny panic attacks were worse, i had flashes of dizziness, I felt depressed, and ultimately, I had to go back on. The longest amount of time I spent off celexa was for 2 months(not by my choice, mind you, as I was incarcerated), and let me tell you, my symptoms got progressively worse. Upon my release I went straight back on the stuff, and finally over a period of months, I managed to wean myself off by splitting my pills into halves, then quarters, etc.

I applaude anyone who refuses to take antidepressants. IMO they're addictive drugs, cause once you stop taking it, the symptoms greatly worsen. Therefore, I'm a little hesitant to recommend any kind of psychoactive drug to anyone. Please take these words seriously. Withdrawal from anti-depressants is NOT fun.

Good Luck friend.

Thanks for the positive feedback, BigJay, Mustang. We have a fellow bro on this board going through the same thing. I really feel for him, cause I know what he's gonna go through in the next couple of months. I told him what I did to get off the stuff, and hopefully he'll make it through. Anti-depressants are no joke.

True, my doc wanted to put me on Zanax(sp?) but I said no and am very glad I did after reading the things M.O.D is going through coming off Paxil, does not sound good at all.

anything that makes you feel better, for a long or short period of time is going to get addictive. i also have reoccuring battles with anxiety and depression. sometimes to the point when i feel its almost bi-polar. i have never tryed anything Rx for it, but took other routes. i dunno the causes of your depression ... but expression always seems to work for me. meaning like get it out of your system, in whatever way you feel most comfortable with .. (gym, a pen, verbal, etc) like i was saying before, if your looking for something herbal, go with kava kava. my fiance and i have been taking it for about 2 months now, at 500 mgs a day. and it does seem to be helping alot with "everyday living". good luck with everything, and sorry if i got sappy :)
