Squating basics?

Im not a premium member so i cannot search well for this. I have been lifting on a regular basis now for a few months and I want to add squats into my routine. Ive tried it a few times w/ pretty low weight and i dont think i have a clue. I do get a workout, but my left knee just ends up hurting. If someoen can help me w/ the basics or direct me somewhere, Id appreciate it

I have a website that has short 10 sec videos of each type of lift, but its so fast and so small i get nothing out if it


Any help would be appreciated.

My specs 5'10 170
Bench 175 5x5
Preacher Curls 95 5x5
(just tryin to give my big exercies to show my lack of str :) What weight do you think i should be starting out squats w/?
 
Go to the PowerLifting forum (on this site) and read the Squat sticky at the top. Then read the bench and deadlift stickies too :)
