okay guys, ive got chicken legs and for the past couple months ive been trying to kill my legs. my first exercise is always squats but it seems that a couple sets into them, i get this weird feeling behind my kneecap. it feels like im pulling or stretching whatever it is right behind my kneecap. sometimes its left leg, sometimes its right leg. it doesnt really hurt at all, but it does feel like its doing something that shouldnt happen. i immediately stop my leg workout once i get this feeling. now this happens about half the time i work out my legs so i cant make any process with legs. and im only squatting 135 because im trying to go light so i dont get that problem, but it still happens. anyone ever had this, have any idea what it is, or know what i can do to fix it? thanks.

What do you do for warm ups ? Give me your whole leg day include everything and dont fib on your warm ups...

it's most likely a form or warmup issue.

do you bounce at the bottom? do you only go to parallel? explain when the pain occurs with regards to your body position

okay, i used to work out with about 225 with squats and my warmup was a first set of squats at 135 because i could get that easy. thats what im working out with now, so basically im just going really really light on squats with no warmup (because im working out with what i usually warm up with). the pulling occurs right when i start to come back up on the squat. and i always go parrallel. what else do you guys need to know?

i'd say warm up with ATF squats and front squats w/ the bar and 95 lbs. turn 45 degrees and check yourself in the mirror to make sure you're getting all the way down and keeping a straight back. If you want to stop at paralell on worksets that's fine i guess but to avoid injury i think you should warm up more and make sure you have some flexibility.

just slapping on 135 is asking for trouble. my oly squat is well over 315# and i ALWAYS hit the bar and 95lbs for a few sets at least.

when i've had knee pain, it's been from stress, inadequate sleep and inadequate flexibility. check yourself in the mirror, be honest and critical (stretch if you need to!) and warm up slow and you should have no trouble.
