squat/deadlift

I heard a while back that squats and deads should be close
is there any truth in this???

my lifts are nowhere near close...
pr's: squat 125x2 deadlift 225x1

no... my squats always been higher than my deads.

Depends on if you mean stifflegged deadlifts. Is its stiff legged than there is no way they would be close. Your squats should be heavier.
 
Generally squats are better than deads, but it also depends how advanced a lifter you are, and your personal biomechanics - some people are just better at one or the other because of the way they're built. My dead is still better than my squat, although the gap is closing. In fact - my gap's pretty similar to yours. I have long legs though, and I've had a hip problem all year which may have affected my squat progress.
