A lot of guys(gals) suggest that after one's workout to have a protein shake and dextrose.

By using Spenda in a whey protein drink (its got ingredients as maltodextrin, sucralose) would be a good insuline spiker?

Would do the same job as real dextrose?

Sucralose has less effect on blood sugar than any other sweetner. Heck, its the only one i use :)

Dont you use dextrose after workout?

Splenda does contain carbohydrates, but I don't think that they are absorbed inside of you. If I remember correctly, this has to do with the bond never breaking, thus never releasing the glucose.

So it would not be a good item to induce insulin release, although, it may cause insulin release in a small population of people.

Post workout use maltodextrin or dextrose in your MRP or protein shake, live alone Splenda and related things.......
For me maltodextrin works great and are also cheap.

If it has 1 gram of carbohydrate per serving (I suppose a serving is a little packet?) then what is the purpose of calling it a "non-calorie sweetener"? They might as well put sugar in little packages, unless if in splenda's case there is a lower amount of carbs per weight?

Splenda in itself has no calories, but the powder that it comes packed in, dextrose or maltodextrine, has calories. You see, you only need a tiny amount of splenda to sweeten something. They disperse say 5 grams of sucralose in 100 grams of maltodextine. Each serving has less than 1 gram of total weight and has approxomatley 1 calorie.

If Spenda = maltodextrin + sucralose
you should add dextrose for an insulin spike
