When you guys do your 5-6 singles, how much rest time are you taking in between sets?

very little, 30 seconds usually. i usually do it with 1 other person, so when they go, im right there to go as soon as they are done.

3 good breaths........ then hit it again.

lol... i do a pull... then pull again when i feel like it. I dont think it really matters all that much.

If I am using 370-410...30 seconds rest.

If I am going heavier (which I believe also works) and head to the 500-600+ range...I'll rest 1-2 minutes. Not a big fan anymore of just doing the lighter weights...the heavier weights need to be taken more often IMO. 600 is still only 85% of my 1rm though...

A reason why you guys are standing on a platform on speed deads?

I do it about 5x per year...at most.

i have a lot of speed problems on deadlift sumo style. im a conventional puller, but my sumo just sucks. i put my feet all the way out to the end of the platform, point my toes straight, and then have to go 3 inch's deeper. really kills my hips, my weak point.

a few months ago i tried 3 times to pull 405 sumo...... it never even budged. and i had always been a sumo deadlifter, so i said what the heck i'll try it conventional. and it flew up so fast i almost fell backwards.

it is really helping my speed a lot. i do either 4,5, or 6 sets of 1 on deads. and i do either half or more than half sumo styled, and the others conventional.

I will pull off a platform every now and again just to train myself with my hands at a lower position, such as they are on a stone load or tire flip.

However I dont do that anymore because as far as stones are concerned.. I can lap more than I can load.
