so since your going to Europe soon can you do me a big favour. :) I am looking for Lacordi kohl pencil in brown and black they are made in Germany. I can't find it in Canada or the USA. As far as I know it is widely avalible in Eastern Europe.

I had to cancel. I was scheduled to change airports in moscow.
well come to find out I need a tourist visa in Russia just to go between the two moscow airports.
I was actaully looking forward to screwin' around during the six hour lay over in the moscow airports
fortunately the Delta woman that checked me in alerted me and I talked with customs to try and get a visa on the quick
but no go so we got my baggage off the flight
I thought about flying into Moscow and "winging" it (pun intended) but I likely would have been deported.
anyhow the ticketbroker has worked it out I can reschedule within a year for $228
which is pretty cheap considering it was an $1100 flight.
I wanted to avoid the Ukranian national airlines because I flew them once and wasn't impressed with the safety
I had window seats and could see one of the two tires under the wing was bald like on a poor white trash car
most airlines fly into Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, and then you use Aerosvit to fly to Dnepropetrovsk
so I chose Delta direct Atlanta to Moscow
and then of course a Moscow flight to neighboring Dnepropetrovsk,Ukraine

got to get that damn Russian paperwork

It is cosmetic pencil the brand is Lacordi and it is made in Germany.

I work with a guy who is from Germany and his family is still in over there, he's always flying home. Want me to ask him, he's really nice? When do you need it by?

A visa just to be 'in-transit'???

That's phucked up.

A visa just so you can spend 2 hours in a chair, and maybe buy a latte and a donut. Wow.

a shitty donut made by a young razorguns probably!!!!!!!

QT don't you have the make-up thing backwards? I know every single time my mother took us to Magyar Orszag she would have GOBS of makeup to sell/bribe the customs officials/porters with.

super QT...I'm nutty about makeup too. Have you tried MAC's kohl pencil? It is super pigmented, goes on really smoothly and stays really well for me. Their black kohl pencil is the best I've tried, and I have tried LOTS.

this is teh geigh.....

Spart - What were your travel plans for UK? I was going to go there this summer but plans changed and will now be in PL, Germany and CZ

That is complete bullshit. I would have demanded to been allowed.

When I was in Russia last year, there was a large portion of people on the cruise ship that did not have a visa. Guess what? they still got to go to the Catherine Palace, the Le Hermitage, the site seeing tours, etc.

They could not have gone off on their own around town like the others of us did, they had to have an escort.

You could have easily requested an escort for the transfer.

I thought about 'winging it' and just gone on and flown there
american cash can get stuff done and I thought I'd have a decent chance of pleading my case
my knowledge of "the great patriotic war" could have come in handy
the russians refer to world war II as the great patriotic war in which the defeated nazi germany
and yes they basically won the war
so an american telling russian authorities that he's visiting ukraine to see museums and battlefields of the war might have curried some favor
after the soviets halted the germans at the gates of moscow in 1941
most of the war was fought in the Ukraine after the Germans retreated from stalingrad

I was on the phone with customs and this guy was trying to work out an expedited transit visa
but even that required 24 hours
and I was gaining hours flying east (+8) so I really only had 16 hours

I then got on the phone with the ticketbroker and he's worked it out that I can reschedule within a year for $228
which is a nominal fee

LOL Mac is my best friend but the kohl is not soft enought to do a pencil technique with. I have gone through tones of diffent brands high end to low to find one soft enough. I think the european made ones are soft as the technique is more used there then in north america.

I got your number and I'll ring you up
I'd like to visit volgograd/stalingrad sometime soon too so I may as well get acquainted with russkie visa protocol
my brother is a minister to pro-athletes and has a missionary friend who's in Volgograd with his family
I want to see Stalingrad before I die

Bro, I welcome the call. I have a business visa, easy to do. saves a lot of paperwork.

On my last day with my first visitor visa my driver said, I like you we go to get visa. He walked into the police station and 5 minutes later I had a 5 day visa. We visited the most amazing titty bars!

I figured I had a chance if I decided to "wing it"
but the ticketbroker worked out a reschedule deal so I pulled my luggage from the plane
all this 'it goes like this and you have to do that' in my experience is malleable and subject to persuasiveness
it wasn't as if I was risking a midnight express experience by violating laws
hell I could have probably just made it so I visited moscow for a week
hey guys detain me for a day until my paperwork clears and then find me a place to stay
and then let's go drinkin'
just don't appear as some typical dipshit american tourist
