soy protein

I have a MAJOR lactose intolerance and whey protein just fucks me up, I've just tried some soy protein and my stomach seems to be ok, I'm I gonna get the same benefit or I'm I wasting my time?
 
There is at least one IFBB pro bodybuilder who is a vegan and has relied upon soy protein for his physique.

I would offer him as an example that soy protein is not a "waste of time." It may not offer the same benefits of whey, I think the scare of its "estrogenic" isoflavones is a bit hyped ... but use it. Just dont make it your only source unless you are a true vegetarian too.

Also, maybe isopure can help you. I hear is lactose FREE.

You're definitely NOT wasting your time with soy protein, just try to eat ~10% more soy than you would equivalent whey protein. Or try mixing that lactose free whey stuff that kingsquat mentioned in a 50:50 blend with your soy. This makes a nice protein blend.

As it turns out, I am also lactose intolerant (I had no frickin' idea until a few days ago!). I use Optimum whey, and I like it, too. I think the vanilla flavour tastes like CRAP, but strawberry is OK. It only has 1.5g of carbs, which is cool. I'd recommend this one. It doesn't do a number on my tummy.
 
i would try...

a whey protein ISOLATE like the whey hydro520 (i think its called) from the protein factory or something along those lines before u switch totally to soy....whey concentrate always made me feel shitty...but im great on lactose free stuff....hope this helps!:D
