Something to think about

Cant read it bro, for plats only.
Heres a little cut and paste for you.
------------------------------------------

For those of you who know me, you already know I dont waste my time in board politics and things of that nature. I stay true to my love of bodybuilding and fitness and let other people worry about everything else. But after the things that have been brought to light over the last few months (especially the last day or so) I feel it's time for me to speak up.

Honestly, I think this board has started to turn towards the C&C crowd (and even turn into a C&C board). I think people would agree with me when I say that the anabolic, diet, and training forums have become 2nd tier to everything else on this site. This site is now all about karma, and bombs, and locked threads, and everything else comes afterwards.

We can start with this whole karma situation. People abused the hell outta that system and made it into what it has become today. I don’t really care about karma. I do think it’s a good idea to recognize people who give good information on post, and in that aspect I think karma is good. However, karma doesn’t mean anything anymore because people buy it, bet it, trade it, give it to their friends for no reason, etc. So there’s no way to tell who is experienced in diet, training, etc. without looking at their post history (which I believe non plats cannot do). I think there needs to be some way to recognize the experienced bros on here, and I don’t think karma is the answer anymore.

Next I have to speak on this COB membership thing. This is another aspect of the board that recently came about that I also feel only benefits the people in places like C&C. Think about it, I don’t really involve myself in the politics and drama on this site. I come here to talk about gear, diet, and training. I try to give advice where I can, and hopefully gain a little more wisdom and knowledge along with everyone else here. What do people like me have to gain by becoming COB??? The answer is nothing, except for a $1000 hole in my bank account.

1) I dont care about being able to drop a superpower bomb, and all that other nonsense. I can probably count the number of times on 1 hand that I've had to bomb somebody since I've been plat. All of these little features that benefit the peeps in C&C and the other forums that have nothing to do with training, I could give a rats ass about.

2) It’s certainly not the recognition… I got the same generic letter that all the other 50 something some odd people got, with my name cut and pasted at the top. If you want to recognize me for the way I’ve helped out on the anabolic and training forums on this site, then send me a REAL letter for a REAL selected group of members (something that cannot be bought) and then explain why you picked me over the other members to be a part of it. I may have to offend somebody, but that COB invite we got was almost insulting.

I’ve been a member here for over 3 yrs now, and despite the other fitness sites I visit I still call this place my home base. But as of recent I’ve watched the steady decline of this site, and as much as it pains me to say it… if things don’t start to turn around soon, I will be finding a new site to call home. This post may offend some people, it may even get deleted for all I know. But this is me telling it like it is, and somebody needs to say it.

Did you write the broly? Very well said either way...I couldnt agree with you more...I think alot of people are feeling that way recently...thats why I just post information now and try not to get into the daily "hair pullings" that happen in AAS...

Not to take on side or the other but I do recognize that GS does run this site as a business venture and things like karma etc. are good for certain aspects of the business.

I come here for the same reasons discussed above: diet and training. Just recently I have ventured to the other boards of the site but most of the time I stick with the anabolic and training related boards.

I can see the issues with karma bombs and COB but really this doesn't bother me. I think the key is to make sure discussions related to diet, nutrition and AAS are properly placed in the respective boards and chat and conversation stay where they need to be.

Any successful site is going to be plagued with politics - people care about this site and they are going to voice their opinions. Unfortunately they do this in the anabolic boards and this makes it messy. I've lost count of the posts that have been moved or simply do not belong in their respective sections.

In all it is a matter of balance - members must respect the rules and mods need to enforce them.

Maybe we could get a "Politics" board up or have a "Complaint" board - I am not sure. Hell, people still stick non AAS posts on the AAS board. The greatest problem is that people read the AAS board the most so everyone thinks they have right to post what ever they want there.

As for the karma bombs etc. eliminating that stuff would be a bad business decision for GS - I know people don't want to hear that but this site is here to make money for him. It takes time and energy to do all of this.

Maybe there could be rules (or code it in the system) to eliminate karma bombs etc. on certain boards - let the karma junkies have their way in the C&C room but keep the AAS board off limits.

I think a healthy medium needs to be reached. Taking an extreme stance in either direction will alienate more people.

I personally think there should be a “Complaint” forum that can address all of these issues. For example this post should be stuck in there (or the C&C board). It doesn’t belong in the AAS forum. (I didn’t mean this to be a flame).

My 2 cc.

I totally agree that this post doesnt belong in the AAS forum. The origional post was made in the plat discussion board, cause that's where I felt it belonged. The only reason I put it here was because of the things that are happening on this site that effect the people that post in the training forums, and I thought they should be aware of it.

And yes, a complaint forum would be a good idea.

I think that is an excellent post. I dont' post that often, I read mostly but I have noticed and even been a part of some drama. I have found myself just in my short time here already looking at other sites for more information on diet and juice and training, etc. There seem to be a lot of chat guys posting and bombing as opposed to just sharing. Excellent post outlaw, and I hope more guys read this.

Bombs are over 'abused' if you can even relate such a word. C&C is a perfect forum. There are lame and petty conflicts between members, but as long as they are kept in that specific forum, there won't be a problem. The diet forum is going down next to nothing IMO. You will get about haf a dozen replies during a whole 24hr day. Steroid forum i am starting to now get completely deprived from. Same topics, same replies. Tren this, prop that. Can i drink winny?... it makes me tired. I'm hoping now there's going to be some changes. And for the better

What you are really complaining about is that there are people on this board that aren't like you. This isn't a flame or cut just an observation of human nature. Everybody wants to associate with people that are like themselves. With an open board, such as this one, all types are coming and posting. Forming cliques and asking questions that have been asked over and over again. The "can you drink winny" questions are only asked once by a new member. It's very seldom when the same person asks the same question over and over again. But new members usually ask the same questions that other new members ask. It would be nice if they read the stickies but for that to happen they need a level of maturity that one doesn't have until well into one's twenties, sometimes thirties. Most of the new people are between the ages of nineteen and twenty two. So just realize that you have become the "Old Guy" and are getting irritated by the "Young Guys."

Now that I'm fifty there seem to be a lot more "young guys" that irritate me as well. But then again maybe it's me and I'm just the grumpy old guy.

If getting old bothers you remember you are only young once but you can be immature forever.

20yr old here, grumps

totally agree, outlaw you have been a great bro from the begining. i think you were one of the first peeps to help me. you keep it real and are never a dick but will put a dumbass in their place. i agree the COB was insulting to me. it was putting a generic label on this site that i love so much. i must say that when i first came here every thread was constructive and had good questions. there is a lot of junk floating around lately but take it for what its worth. still good bros here this thread projects that

I agree and you are totally right for bringing this topic up. What matters to me is that in the end there are tons of decent people in this site that have helped me a great deal. We all need to work together to keep EF an elite site.

I agree 100%. I have been on this board for a long time, (used to be 02gixxersix but plat membership ran out) and a lot of things have changed for the worse. This is still my favorite board because of how many knowlegable people are on the board but there are a lot of things that annoy me.......specifically the fact that I can no longer search. kama doesnt bother me one bit. I try not to judge someone based on post count or karma hits. You have to stick around for a while and you will come to know who is full of shit and who knows their shit. For instance for the most part if you have 900,000 posts and have only been here for a week then you probably spend most of your time here and not much time in the gym or the kitchen.

Great post from a good bro. It started with the satch bs c&c people started coming over making post and the drama hasn't stopped.
