What model ?

just a little walther p22.

why?

1. i want to do a lot of handgun practice on the cheap. a box of 500 .22lr sells for $8 vs a box 9mm for $7. do we even need to compare the cost of 22 to 45?

2. because my gf wants to go shooting, but she is scared shitless (because of her hippy, liberal upbringing). i want something that is very light and not too loud for her to start with.

3. i think every collection should have a .22

Good luck with the P22. They get jammed big time.

I hate to say that but the best .22 I have ever owned was a Ruger MkII. Maybe the lattest P22s dont have issues anymore. Who knows.

I want a silencer to go on a rifle so I can target practice around the house.

cant wait till im 21, then i gotta send in my handgun permit forms and wait 6 months for an interview, but i hope!

you need to move to a state that isn't run by a bunch of gun-hating communists/democrats.

you know what i have to do in colorado to buy a gun?

go to the store
finger fuck every gun i like
pick one out
yell at them for trying to sell me a display case model
demand mine is in new, pristine condition
inspect it thoroughly
fill out BATF 4473
wait about 5-10 minutes for my background check
pull out my credit card
decide i better buy some more ammo
pay for everything
walk out the door

there is no wait time. we don't have to register shit here. no license or permit is required unless you plan on carrying a concealed weapon.

and guess what? which state has more gun crime? ny or co? washington dc has a total ban on handguns, but it has the highest murder rate in the country.

sure, we had columbine...or did we? i mean, columbine was considered a 'gun free zone', so there is no possible way guns could have been used to kill everyone.

hmm...gun control always works.

seriously, you need to move and change party affiliation.

I'm pretty sure it's the poverty rate and minority infilration that's more indicative as to why the murder rate is higher in DC than Colorado maing.

do you think this would be a safer society if all law-abiding citizens were armed?

i've wanted to go out to a shooting range for several months now. it's 95% being lazy, and 5% wanting to find an appropriate place for beginner's instruction, but not knowing where to go. i've found some places in jersey after a couple of searches, but didn't follow through. bros, does it matter where i go, or should i just find one and get to it?

once i get comfortable handling a gun, maybe shoot some homeless people, i'll buy something.

my .02 on a .22.... for anyone, not just your gf. If I ever have to pull any gun out to defend my self, I want that damn thing to make that person stop in their tracks! Sure a bigger gun will have more power and will be louder, but she won't hear a damn thing when she fires it due to the rush going thru her body. I refuse to putchase a 22 ever! I've shot one, and there is not much power behind them. I bought a 45 Ruger a bit ago and was told I wouldn't be able to handle it. Well I fired that thing better than I did the Glock.

My suggestion is before you purchase something she will be shooting ... take her to the range (one that sells guns) and have her take a few classes and shoot a few different guns.

oh, i am quite proficient with firearms...i do A LOT of shooting on my own, and i have shot many, many different firearms.

personally, i own a glock 17, HK USP, colt LEO ar-15 with an m4 profile. my roommates/buddies who i regularly go shooting with own (between them) 3 glocks (17, 21, 22), a sig p226, some smith and wesson semi-autos (i have no idea which models...don't really care), a benelli m4, a SKS, a couple of old 12 gauges, and 2 hunting rifles (270 + .30-06.

a 22 is not meant for defense. it's meant for doing a lot of shooting for very cheap. it's hard to get a lot of practice in if you own a 45, because it will cost you an arm and a leg.

box of .45 rounds - $15 for 50
box of .40 rounds - $12 for 50
box of 9mm rounds - $6-7 for 50
box of .22lr rounds - $8 for 500

huge price difference.

olympic arms made the ar15
forgot who made the ak i'd have to go look in my trunk and i'm lazy..

Just buy ammo in bulk greatly reduces the price per shell. 500 is the minimum I buy now. Was $65 for 500 .45 acp last time I bought some. Not as cheap as 22 obviously but better than per box.
