Some people amaze me........

I am sitting at home........on holiday and ill........typical huh. Anyway there is this TV progam on about two families who have exchanged lives for a week. One family is wealthy-ish.....the other isnt.

So the non-wealthy family are basically on the social and dad works a minimum wage job. This family live in a house which does not have electricity upstairs.........all of the wiring is there but it needs fixing.

Anyway, they have a dilimma. They can fix the electricity supply or mom can get her botox jabs (she is into plastic surgery even tohugh she is not well off). Guess what this family went for??? Yeah thats right.........the botox jabs!!!

I have a friend who was a student and spent all of his money on video games. He didn't have enough money for food and thus he survived on crackers and such for a few months. He was skin and bones.

Not trying to be funny but - perhaps that's an example of why this family is poor.

On the one hand, I guess we shouldn't necessarily judge other people by the standards that we might have for ourselves but, on the other, is it fair on, say the children of the family, not to have electricity upstairs when all their friends and classmates presumably do - we are talking, after all, about one of the wealthiest countries in the Western world here.

Also, why are taxpayers supporting this family through social security while the mother goes off to have botox treatment? That seems silly to me.

Anyway, hope you're better soon - but back to school next week, no?

This family come from a similar background to myself. However, I have never known anybody to put personal appearance before the health and safety of their kids. Indeed, people from this background are normally very careful to pay for the essentials first.

The thing about the social in the UK is that it is very easy to swindle it. In fact, you can often get more money from it and other benefits than you could by working. Nobody checks where the money is going either. So it would be easy for this woman to put money into unnecessary things.

Not trying to be funny but - perhaps that's an example of why this family is poor.

hmm....the new benefit ad's trouble me, basically because people are buying paint and hair dye with them as opposed to food and the basic provisions you;d hope they's spend it on

I saw this yesterday and found everyone in it a bit odd to be honest, the father of the rich family seems like a real funny one. Another of the problems is the botox womans accent and way of talking, it just sounds so common from the second she opens her mouth, also I thought she looked like she had, had surgery.

I thought the same when I saw that ad, assumed it was talking about child allowance which she would have been collecting even if not on the dole.
