The bottom bit is a 5.56mm rifle and the top bit is a 20mm cannon with a laser rangefinder that can be used to airburst the 20mm shell.

Yeah it pretty much is, its the grenade launching system thats selling it.

Yep Manny it's a Steyr I'm using. It's our standard infantry weapon here in Ireland.
The tank was abandoned by the IDF/SLA on their retreat from South Lebanon. The Isreali's captured a shite load of these during their numberous war's in the middle east and pressed them into service.

The bottom gun in the OICW is a Heckler Koch G36K with a 20 mm gun over (6 shots mag).

Bouncer: how is the Steyr ? Never tried it but looks pretty cool. I've only used the M4 (mostly), M-16 and AK-74.....

Manny the Steyr is the best weapon I've ever used. I've used it in competition against almost every other well know infantry weapon and it's beaten them all.
It has a 1x5 optical sight, which doesn't sound much. But has the advantage of minimal image shake, plus the user's can fire with both eye's open !, giving a wider field of vision.
The Irish army is using it in such environments as Somalia (a few years ago) [hot and dusty]. The Balkans in both summer and winter, their winters are extreme. And it's currently proving it's worth with our forces in East Timor.
I could'nt think of another rifle I'd like to replace it with. I'm going on exercise next week, including a live fire exercise and I'll have the digicam with me. I'll post some pix of it in action if your interested.

Post some pics please..... The Steyr and the Enfield L85 are the 2 weapons which I'd like to try one day. For the moment the M4 carabine is my favourite with the 3.4X optical sight. But I've heard only good comments about the Steyr.
