a 40 gallon size container full of boys baby clothes today. She had just seen me walking my dog and asked about the baby and when it was due. We talked for a bit and I didn't think much of it.

God bless her! They are so cute, and it is probably more than I will even need. Most of them don't even look like they were ever worn. There are some nice people out there still.

:)

Babys grow so quick they don't wear out clothes. If you know someone with a kid who's a little older than yours its a goldmine.

Yeah, I don't really know anyone, but these clothes are GREAT! She said she thinks she has a car seat and other stuff to give me next week. I'm holding off now from getting anything to see what is left that I will need. I think I have more 0-3months outfits than there will be days to wear them...lol.

she isn't going to like you after you sleep with her man
lol...I won't sleep with her man. I never go for men who are taken. That isn't my style at all.

you'll be lucky if the baby wears 0-3 months for longer than a month or so...All my kiddos grew so damn fast. Don't get many newborn diapers...get a few packs and then stock up on Size 1's. They wear those for a long time.

Yeah, thanks for the info! I only have bought a pack of 72 newborn diapers so far. I have some 3-6 month and 6-9 month outfits too. Hopefully, that will hold the bambino through the winter on clothes. =-)

let's get to makin' hay while the sun shines then HR, the due days comin', and I don't mean yours!

IRWYA - that's " I'm Ready Whenever You Are", just in case this new autocomplete system doesn't know that one....

I wish I still had all the clothes from my lil ones...I could ship them all to you. When I divorced, I got rid of all that. No need packing and moving all that crap.

Gets lots and lots and lots.. and more lots of spitup rags...

The first couple of months is eat, spitup... spitup... spitup, eat, sleep, repeat.

Okay, I will get some of that. You don't think the fragrance free/ allergy free stuff is okay?

LOL...I'm sure she is smokin hot, but I'm out of commission for a while.

i think that is what dreft is
its safe for babys skin because they are very sensitive

that's very cool HR. i gave away a lot of my kids baby clothes.

i have a funny story about this though.
when my boys were 14 and 15 i think, a woman i knew said she wanted to send some boys clothes back to her 'home country' (i can't remember what country it was) and asked if i had any baby boy clothes. I said i didn't, since my boys were obviously long out of childrens clothes and i either gave it away or threw it away.

she asked if i had ANY clothes of thiers that they grew out of. and she seemed... almost impatient.
i said i doubted it, since my son's clean out their closets frequently. she said, "can you just LOOK?"
and then went on to say that with all the money i spend on clothes for them, its a shame to waste it.
??? I don't spend a lot of money on clothes. we mostly shop in models for them.
anyway, i looked. my one son had only been living with me for a year and he came to me with NO clothes, so he didn't have anything to give away yet.
my other son had a few things, but not much. like one pair of jeans and 3 tshirts.

I give them to her and she's PISSED at me. she's standing there yelling at me that i must think i'm too GOOD to let poor people wear our stuff. so... i took the clothes back.

GEEZ! :worried:

Talk about a weird sense of entitlement. That lady needs a real attitude adjustment.

I practically kissed this woman for the baby clothes. I was tickled pink. I have looked at them folded and refolded them 3 times...lol.

Baby clothes are ADORABLE.

Not in this OCD house they weren't.
Oh yeah, I forgot about the picture where you merely taunted your child with her birthday cake so as to not make a mess. :lmao:

I'm not OCD at all here. As long as he isn't going to get an incurable disease, it's all good and fine...lol.

lolololololololololol
My oldest never fit in 0-3, and my daughter was in 0-3 for about 2 weeks..my youngest is the only one who ever fit in 0-3 and of course I did not think that he would so I did not buy that many 0-3's.
Plenty of onesies is important too, same with those damn baby socks! They go through the tshirts like hot cakes and the socks always fall off and get lost....

#1 Sanitary Wash for kids' clothes. 180+ degrees will disinfect anything.

We give away a lot of clothes to friends who need it. I LOVE the feeling we get when they are genuinely happy to get a load of clothes for their child to enjoy. Not that they're struggling to buy clothes, it's just a nice jesture and it helps a lot in many ways. We certainly don't need them anymore and love to see others using them. Yes, a lot still have tags on them. Kids grow fast.

If I could give one bit of advise, don't buy 3-5 pairs of shoes at a timefor a child. They grow out of them quick. Think 'seasons' when buying clothes and shoes. If they don't wear them this winter, then it's gone.

Good luck

True. I haven't gone too overboard, but the lady who gave me the clothing must have. I was counting them last night, and she gave me over 40 footed sleepers in size 0-3 months. I hope the baby isn't too big to wear them. They are sooooo cute. Some still had tags on them. She also gave me about ten sleeping gowns with the elastic on the bottom. I like those because it makes diaper changing easy.

Shoes...I haven't bought any shoes. What would a kid do with shoes as a newborn besides lose them?...lol. I plan on letting him go around in the footed sleepers 99% of the time. No need to put him in uncomfortable clothing. =-)

Angel, wow! I had no idea that they could be born too big for the 0-3 month clothing. I think when I get close to delivery they can give me an estimate on the baby's size. I hope he isn't as big as I was. I was a ten pounder and my dad was nearly 12 pounds. :worried:

Yeah, they sell those soft booted shoes.. I got a pair for my daughter when she was about 3 months old.Because she was so big and sat in the saucer I wanted her to have shoes on..My last baby I did the typical footed pj's..He still wears em, lol. I love them.
Yeah all my babies were big..Don't listen to estimates..My first born they told me I would be lucky if he made 7lbs (they told me this the day I went in to have my water broke)..Well he came out 8lbs, 14oz and was holding his head up off of the scale as they weighed him.....
All my babies were big. My premie was 8lbs 4 oz.He was the one that made the 0-3 work..My daughter would have fit but she was just way too long for them! Oldest was 8,14 21 inch, girl was 9,4 22 inch and baby was 8,4 20 inch. Funny cause they handed my baby to me and I was so scared to hold him, even though he was my 3rd baby. It was scary because he was so tiny. They were all telling me he was huge and everything, I felt like I was holding a little 4 lb baby when I held him for the first time. Lol

LOL...I just realized how badly I'm going to get ripped on being a Kentucky gal saying she is going to have her baby go barefoot.

Man, those babies weighed almost 1/10th of your body weight! :worried:

I hope this one is a healthy 6-7 pounds but no bigger...lol.

Yeah, babies don't need shoes. I was referring to later on in life (17 or 18 yo). HA! Anyway, we tried to buy socks with the rubber bottoms to keep the kid from slipping and falling on our floors. They work wonders. Before the rubber bottoms, they would slip everywhere when wearing normal socks.

and When in doubt... burb him.

Yeah, once he gets to trying to walk, I'll get him some little shoes. I may get him some for his first pictures, too. ;)

Babies get lots of gas, so I have the burp clothes ready...lol.

Have you guys heard of the new "Dunston" baby language thing? They say that you can tell whether your baby is crying from hunger, sleepiness, gas, pain, etc by the sound of the cry. I listened to the CD and will tell you if it works once the munchkin gets here.
