First, I lost my phone. Can't find it anywhere. That's never happened. Then I get in my car and drive to the store and when I get home, I noticed a hissing sound. The thermostat didn't move in the car, but apparently my car over heated on a short trip. Radiator fluid is leaking out of the reserve tank.

Sorry biteme! I was just practicing and I see it worked :worried:

I've never had a problem to my car and I've never lost my phone. Both, in the same damn night. I need my phone. How long should I wait before I open the radiator cap? The hissing noise stopped as soon as I walked up to the car.

Yes! Please.

Also does anyone know it could have been sabotage to my car? I don't much about cars. Radiator fluid all leaked out.

Your voicemail picked up but I did not leave a message

Did you check inside your car for your phone?

Yes, I've looked everywhere. I remember using in my car before I went inside the gym. I put it in my gym bag. Maybe someone stole it at the club or it fell out. Should I call t-mobile and have my phone turned off?

Can I put straight radiator fluid into the car? I don't have a thing to measure the mixture properly.

That would be a smart thing to do or wait till the morning and check with your gym to see if you didn't just leave it there.

yes you should but straight radiater fluid in it.. the only time you dont is when you add anti-freeze..

Dude, you live in TX. Don't bother with the mixture. Just dump some in. If you're temp gauge didn't move at all, it might be your thermostat. It could just be worn out and didn't open up at the designated temp setting and just got too damn hot. Also could be that your radiator has too much rust and just general crud in it man. Might need to go have it flushed.

Good luck man.

JM

I just don't understand why it would do that. Has to be a problem somewhere. Thanks to Feisty, I'm gonna call my phone company and tell them to turn my phone off until I find it. Wait, I can't do that! I'm expecting an important phone call. Damn!

Thanks! I'm taking it in as soon as I can to be sure. And I thought radiator fluid was anti-freeze? I just poured a bunch of anti-freeze into the reserve tank. Then I opened the radiator cap and it was close to being full, so I just added some water. I'm wondering if that fluid didn't leak out of the reserve tank only

was there a leak?

I don't know. Too dark to see. I thought radiator fluid and ant-freeze were the same thing.

Shit, that's my bad. I need to re-read the chapter about this doll thingie.

pretty much are anymore.

but water could be too. but not much anymore. I do not think i even use water at all anymore..

There's no such thing as "radiator fluid". There's coolant (aka anti-freeze) and water. Mix them 50-50. You don't have to be precise. If you added anti-freeze last time it needed topping, use water this time.

If it was hissing, you could have a bad radiator cap, or a leaky hose. Or a bad thermostat. Those are all cheap. Or a blown head gasket. That's expensive.

Or it could be behaving normally. The radiator cap is set to bypass when a certain pressure is reached, that's how coolant is exchanged between the radiator and the expansion tank. It could have just been doing that.

I didn't make it in to work. It's amazing that I made it to the service shop. The battery light came on and it died on the highway about 1/2 from the shop. I was on an incline and the car rolled all the way into the service shop. Apparently, a belt came off and that's what was causing it to overheat. They just gave me a ride home. Waiting to hear how much the damage will be. I still can't find my fucking phone! All my numbers are in it and I had to search everywhere to find a number to call my boss. "Hey boss, I lost my phone and my car blew up in the same day." LOL. He probably thinks I'm lying.

Ah, the belt for the water pump and alternator. Shouldn't be much.
