Software/service which expunges private info from the webbies?

Anyone know of a service/software which would totally obliterate personal information? Thank you

Okay. This was probably a stupid question to ask. How about a premium service which searches out your private address/number from listing sites and deletes those?

No such thing.

Data is spread across thousands of disparate databases owned by thousands of private corporations. There is no 'master database'.

Pay attention to your bank account, and put a note on your credit to flag it before creating new lines of credit. Harder for someone to steal your identity. Which if they did, would probably be due to accessing a database, rather than anything to do with the internet per se.

There is a "service" out there that will be delighted to steal your money in exchange for generating a ton of bogus information, which they claim will drive your real info down onto page sixty at Google. It's a scam. Ain't gonna happen.

I read about them on a blog where a guy tried to get them to attack "I Can Has Cheezburger." They said "Sure, we can make that go away!" Yeah, right.

Forget about it.

I once had to re-engineer a CSR system to display only "the last 4 characters" of the social on the screen (hence why they ask you only the last 4).

Douchebag designers before me, designed it to display the ENTIRE number.

Guess what. Loser trashy ghetto 19 y/o CSR reps, would copy the numbers and info, and give them to their gang-banger thug boyfriends. Who would then order cc's, id's, you name it.

This was a few years back. The CSR inbound industry has matured, and all call centers display only a few tidbits of info now (even in India). And thankfully, low paying trash that would do this, do not know how to access a SQL Server. :) (most SQL Servers also encrypt key information as well in their tables)
