I can't be the only geek :nerd:

New season starts tomorrow night on BBC America, woooo whooo!

(shit, what kind of a sad comment on your life is it when you start looking forward to television shows?)

I love the Doctor. I'm bummed we aren't going to get a full season 5 of Sarah Jane Adventures though. :( did you see dorktower.com the other day? So sad.

No, but my husband told me, he heard about it over NPR. I've only just heard of the Sarah Jane Adventures by reading her obit. Funny, she was only 63. Once upon a time I thought that sounded so old, now all I can think is that she was so young. It was cool to see her (and K9!) in the few episodes with David Tennant.

I didn't think I'd like the new Dr. but I have to admit he's growing on me. He and Amy have good chemistry.

Now the next question, what's going to happen to Torchwood?

I saw that...

I miss Sci Fi Fridays...Dr. Who, Stargate and Battlestar...

I haven't watched it since I was a kid, before we had cable and only got 6 channels by antenna; PBS was one of them and I used to watch Dr. Who on it. Back when I watched, Dr. Who looked like this:

Yeah, me too. Tom Baker, Dr. Who #4, and the longest lasting from 1974–1981. He was my favorite until David Tennant, #10. I won't say Tennant has replaced Baker as my favorite but he did a helluva job.

Currently they're up to Dr. Who #11. The series is really much fresher and clever with WAY, WAY better SFX than the 70s. God, the SFX in the 1970s were so bad they were funny. Like seeing the zipper in the King Kong suit funny :FRlol:

Sure, they look bad in retrospect...but I can tell you that as a six-year-old the Daleks, Zygons, and The Master were all plenty frightening.

Exactly, Incredible Hulk used to scare me shitless as a child... had I seen the Doctor back then I imagine some Daleks would have too.

I was terrified of the opening music as a kid.
