So the Doctor said I have Sterile or Non Bacterial Prostatitis !!!

Is it safe to take this for an infection (my doctor said I may have prostatitis) ? I have heard some bad things about this drug ? Also after reading all the side effects on Cipro at www.drugs.com, it makes you really paranoid to take it !!! are all drugs like this (if you read about them you will see alot of potential nasty side effects) Is Cipro that hardcore of a drug ? I am healthy young man in my late twenties with no other health conditions.

I am worried about taking this.... he wants me to take Cipro twice a day and metronidazole (APO) twice a day... He says I probably have Non Bacterial Prostatitis, so why am I taking an anti-biotic for this if there is no infection ?

The only symptoms I have been having is frequent Urination which comes and goes, like I will have a bad day then be fine for like 4 days then it comes back for a day. I have no pain in my groin area and no discomfort unrinating. Does this condition get worse ? I have had it for a couple months but I just went to the doctor yesterday.

If anybody could give some information on this or share a personal experience I would appreciate it.

DRE and urine test, no blood work though yet.

Flagyl and Cipro are fairly common antibitoics that have been used for over 20 years. I wouldn't worry about their side effects; I'd be more concerned as to why he's treating non-bacterial prostatitis with these.

I'd make the quick assumption that you have a follow up in 10-14 days, and he's using the antibiotics to 100% rule out bacterial causes.

Did you have a PSA test done?

Cipro is strong antibiotic, perhaps you get 2nd opinon did you see urologist?
or general MD? go to urologist

yah he wanted to rule out bacterial 100% !!! I have to follow up this week.

The only problem I experience is frequent urination, and dried blood when I climax. It's been that way for 2 months ever since I came off my tren cycle. Doc told me to quit playing doctor and to stop taking clomid. So I basically did half of my pct's. Now I think b/c of me missing most of my pct's it's causing me to shoot blanks, and b/c of that I think it's causing the blood. So I went back and incorporated some clomid in daily along with the Bacterin in hopes that I am just shut down hard. Otherwise I am at the uriologist.

well my doctor does not think I have prostatitis anymore, he thinks it has something to do with me jerking off when I am sitting. I know it sounds crazy but it seems to be true. I would jack off the night before sitting in front of my computer and boom, the next day my frequent urination would be back. He told me that it makes your prostate work harder and it gets inflamed when you orgasm sitting (it is not a natural position to be in). He said try lying down to orgasm and relax after doing so, I have to experiment with this tommorow night.

so far so good though, I have not jerked sitting and I have had little or no symptoms at all.
