Pretty easy ish, just pass a visual test and answer 16 questions (ur allowed 4 incorrects). I got one wrong, which angered me. It was a bullshit question about defensive driving. I always hated multiple choice - I analyze way too much for that crap.

Anyway, 60 days now I can ride. :rainbow:

so... when do you get the "MC" denoted on your license to become fully :supercool?

You are then are allowed to wear leathers into restaurants, only when having rode the bike that night to the restaurant.... as to not be too-:rainbow:

Well, I can take the test whenever I want OR I could take the MSF course which would take the place of the test. But I got some learnins to do first. Doing another 3 hours with my guy on the bike tomorrow - now that I have the permit, we can take it to the road if we like. May try to set up another 3 hours on Mon too, since I have it off.

More great news - my company is paying for the lessons!

Oh yah! I forgot about the MS course, i took that for my license... after i was riding dirt bikes for a year or so though.

Ride as much as you can / he give you the opportunity too.... practice does make damn near close to perfect as perfect gets :)

WHAT?! lol, how the hell did you get your work to pay for riding lessons??

We get $500 a year for a "Get a Life Fund". Most people use it for gym or yoga classes or whatever. I sold our CFO on the fact that riding is NOT a means of transportation but rather a sport/activity. He bought it. :)

Way to go brudda!

on-pointedness question:

Shirt cuffs are supposed to peek out of the jacket sleeves, correct?

I can't believe this. I took my course 2 years ago...and if I would've asked my company to pay for it they would've laughed in my face. Nothing says "executive" like showing up on a crotch rocket. ;) LOL!

should I keep having to pull them out for this to happen... or get even bigger shirts?

I wouldn't be overly concerned with it. It does make for a nice clean look though, but the actual times where you are moving and the cuff is exposed the right length are minimal. It's just tough. They should naturally be exposed when your arms are at your side, but they are never always exposed, unfortunately. Too many moving parts

That's cool man. I'd love to start riding myself. My old man bought a Honda 750 a few months ago. It's a nice bike but not exactly for noobs (at least not me.) I talked him into letting me fuck around in a parking lot one day and dumped the thing while trying to negotiate a 180. Put a scratch on the muffler and bruised up my leg a bit. He hasn't let me ride in since lol.

This just kinda fits with the motorcycle thing..;)

To my darling husband,
Before you return from your overseas trip I just want

to let you know about the small accident I had with

the pickup truck when I turned into the driveway.

Fortunately I'm OK and really didn't get hurt,

so please don't worry too much about me.
I was coming home from Wal-Mart, and when I turned

into the driveway I accidentally pushed down on the

accelerator instead of the brake. The garage door

is slightly bent but the pickup fortunately came to

a halt when it bumped into your Corvette and Harley.
I am really sorry, but I know with your kind-hearted

personality you will forgive me. You know how much

I love you and care for you my sweetheart. I am

enclosing a picture for you. I cannot wait to hold

you in my arms again.
Your loving wife

P.S. Your girlfriend called.

own a bike yet?

not yet. shopping around this weekend. was originally looking for an older cheap Ninja 250 to learn on, but may go for a newer 500 instead. Figure it's still a good bike to learn on but will also keep me entertained for a while once I get used to riding.

good choice. I learned on a dirt bike on my grandpa's farm when i was 13-14. My first bike was a ninja and worked my way up and just bought a custom Minneapolis chopper w/ a 154" but now I drive an older car to afford the payments on the bike!

the permit test IS easy (although when i took mine, two younger guys were taking theirs and they both failed and i passed. they were pissed.)
but the driving test is HARD.
i passed it though.

OH!

random old biking thought came to mind... if and when you're out cruising around on your hog in the blazing heat of summer, be sure to carry a metal plate on you/in your toolbag or saddle bags.

I've had/seen bikes topple over from kickstands sinking into steaming hot asphalt... not pretty. The metal plate prevents this :)
