So is the U.S. going to attack Iran?

Bush wants to deal with this before he leaves office. A military stike is unlikely because he is unwilling to let his public opinion from at home and with the international community suffer more than what it has. But, it is the main topic of the UN right now. Anyway, the attack would be a strategic air strike campaign, much like the shock-and-awe campaign in Iraq. Only nuclear facilities would be targeted. But Iran has stepped up their military training to display their military might with their ships and helicopters. The best news is that they do not want to put any of our troops on the ground.

unfortunately i have to agree with you...and if we do...it should be strategic strikes...and we should keep as many resources as possible...but that will never happen...because the worlds public opinion wouldn't allow it...same in iraq it should be over and we should have all the oil we need...and if anybody objects they should be next...WOW...i used to be liberal democrat!

Iran, what military might. If they stalemated with Iraq in the 80's, there military sucks.

They have had 20 years to develop their technology. For obvious reasons, their military might will never be as superior as the United States military, nor would they have a chance if we chose to invade them, much like any other nation except Russia and China. We aren't afraid of their military, but these open demonstrations are meant to deter anyone from attacking them, basically saying, that if you come after us, we will not back down. What we should be worried about this the continuing of the development of nuclear weapons over there in which, there is no doubt in anyones mind, they would use it against the US first chance they had.
