So I'm Making This Mix...

I put all the files together in Cool Edit making one large track. I'm happy with the transitions and everything so I go to split it up into seperate tracks. Everything is working fine until I go to burn and I notice that there's little sections of silence before and after each track. I reopen Cool Edit and I notice that, for some ungodly reason, the program saves the file with about .03 seconds of silence on each end for no real reason. I switched to Audacity, same deal. I put on an old copy of Acid, same thing.

Question: What the hell am I doing wrong? What option am I not turning off? I just want the mp3s like I saved them, without little buffers of silence.

Thanks.

Oh, and shareware programs like Mp3Trim do nothing for me because the sections of silence are too small for those kinds of editors to cut off exactly.

And I like how the best Mp3Trimmer still hasn't been brought over to Windows.

I actually did some DMT to see if the alien lifeforms that really control earth had any idea what was going on, no dice. All I wrote down was "Hampster Nipples!!!," on the wall with my own crap. An anagram maybe?

I'll be dressing up as a monk and setting myself on fire outside the offices of Cool Edit at around 5pm if anyone wants to meet up. You know, if you need cover art or something, Rage Against the Machine, I'm looking at you.

Dude, you posted outside the music forum!!

I don't know anything about the programs you're using, but if it's really a .03 sec thing, it may just be part of how those programs work? Something most normal users wouldn't care about?

I'm thinking that's it, I know there used to be a plugin where you could set index markers inside a large file. I can't find it and I don't know how to do that.

Oh, the new Satyricon and Darkthrone are golden.

Time to go to lunch, thanks guys.

I haven't picked up a Satyricon album ever since Satyr shaved his head and started dressing like trailor park trash. I should probably give them a chance again, lol.

So I did a lot of research and I guess the gap is just an mp3 thing. I split the files as a .wav and it's gapless now. Go figure.

Still, a shareware/freeware program that could set up index markers would be useful.

I have never used those programs but I have to work "hamster nipples" into a sentence today now. F*$k that was funny! LOL at the cover art thing too....ROFL
