I used to have an AMD 2600+ with a Radeon 9800 PRO. I now have a AMD 4200+ with a NVidia 6150 LE. The performance is the same, but the cost was $1700+. :( Fuckers!

YOU PICK!

Pfft. Dude, we gave up on computer technology to help North Korea built nukes.

I've got a working one in my basement. When my lord gives the call, I'll take it down to Union and away I go!

Of course, I'll put out a good bye EF (and cruel world) thread before I go.

OR

Dude, you got me. I'm actually a bisexual blonde gymnastic playboy playmate.

Pfft. Quadratic equations and I"m working on formulas that will solve the world's hunger and war problems.

Pfft2! Games.

Performance is the same in what? If your talking games or something, the 9800 Pro should actually be faster. If your talking normal tasks, you must not have enough ram on the new machine.

I'm talking about games. Thanks for the tip. I'll see if I can swap the cards.

Yeah, a 9800 is still a beast of a card IMO. Should play games very well.

9800 Pro is AGP card and the 6150 LE is on the motheboard using system ram with an open PCI Express slot. You can find a PCI-E 6600GT or a 7600GT on line for $100 or $160 respectively. If the $160 is not too hard on you the 7600GT is a great card for the price.

lol...well, I already dropped about 1700+ on the system (god damned 14% tax!)...what's another 200+?

BTW, is there a way to tell what slots a PC has available without opening it up?

If your talking RAM slots they should be accessable from the outside, atleast it is on my Gateway Laptop.
