Smoking And Working-out

I don't smoke but I use too many years ago. I never felt a difference while lifting but I sure did in the cardio region though. Smoking starves your body of oxygen and nutrients. So though you might not physically see or feel it's holding you back like you can when doing cardio it sure is buddy.

Nicotine is a slight aromatase inhibitor. It will help cut down on the conversion of test to E2. Many guys that hit the pen mid-cycle will use patches for this purpose.
But it seriously compromises your performance as it reduces your lung capacity, AND the capacity of your blood to hold oxygen... Both are very undesirable.

In short, you should stop. If you're on cycle, i'd at least switch to dip, a patch or an e-cig or something for your fix without as many of the side effects.

you won't survive one of my workouts if you are a smoker. you need clean lungs to breathe when you workout, lifting weights will raise your heart rate and cause you to breathe heavier. yesterday I did 10 sets of pullups at 10-14 reps each.. that amounts to around 120 reps total and look at my avi, not like I am a scrawny dude, thats a lot of weight to pull. I was huffing and puffing halfway through my sets. and that was only the first stage of my entire workout. think i could keep going as a smoker and push myself ?

if you are serious about this sport I suggest you quit immediately.

Forget bodybuilding, if you are serious about health you dont smoke, period.

there was this doughboy standing outside the gym smoking right outside the door.. as people would walk in or out they would get a whiff of this fatso's chemicals he was blowing out of his fat face. I had just finished my workout and was going to my bicycle and taking off the lock about to go for a 6 mile bicycle ride home and the punk did not have the decency to even move out of the way.. so i told him "are you waiting for someone?" he said "nope" I said "don't you think its rude to smoke in front of a gym, people don't want to inhale that crap" he shrugged his shoulders and then threw his cigarette on the floor and went inside. I wonder if smoking makes you stupid or just an idiot?

you don't notice it but keep in mind other lifters at the gym can smell it on you... we instantly will lose respect for you... i've had a couple instances where guys would walk past me and they would reak of cigarettes and I shake my head

LMAO people normally criticize me for smokeing so i try to be a couple of stores away from the gym.

Its a bad habit and to many of my friends smoke thats when it became a habit rather then just smokeing once a week or something! gotta get some patches this week and see where that takes me

some people get point it out to me but i just wash my hands and some axe covers it up. in the summer it sticks to your cloths. i try to not bother everyone in the gym

well sounds like you care about yourself so I have no doubt you will be a non smoker very soon. good luck.

i know nicotine is one of the toughest habits to break, but people quit all the time. so i expect to hear in a month or two that you broke the habit. plus the money you save on wasting money on cigs you can use to buy some supps instead. :)

thanks man i need because planing on hitting tren soon, heard it gives some people shortness of breathe. my friend took it and never smoked in his life, dude couldn't walk up stair without losing his breathe.

I am older in my 40's now and quit smoking over a year ago. It was one of the best things I did to improve my workouts. Seriously it increased my endourance very noticably, the ability to take in oxygen quicker well think about it.
I am so happy I quit. Sometimes during a night of heavy my wife will have a cig or 2, i have no interest now that i see how much it effected me.
More than improving your wo improve your life.

yeah definately quit and then up your cardio before you run tren. i ran 1.5 miles per day before my tren cycle and did not have any breathing issues from tren. even on 100-125mg EOD which is a pretty decent dose.

from what friends have said it will take a while after you quit smoking for your lungs to really clean itself out. so give it time.

If you are a smoker , you do not posses the WILLPOWER to lift weights. period end of story! Not only that , it's fucking rude as hell , I hate smokers worse than a child molestor!

Smokers = No discipline.

I used to smoke and lifted and ran a 2 miles in 13 and a half minutes didn't bother me at all. I quit 2 years ago due to price. I don't care if someone smokes probably because I understand the addiction and how hard it is to quit. When I see smokers I am thankful that my State taxes it so hard I quit due to waste of money. Quitting smoking compared to lifting hard and eating perfect for 10 weeks. It isn't even close quitting smoking is a 100 times more difficult.

Arabian not to be rude but smoker worst than child molester? I am sorry but I don't see myself using AAS illegally as somehow better than a person who legally smokes and child molester man to say that speaks to the fact you nor anyone close to you has ever been abused. It is a very horrible thing to happen. I am sure you didn't mean it.

It's a discusting habit and is so bad for you quit it al together if you're serious about your health, I used to smoke a pack a day luckily one day my body just started rejecting it, I will occasionally crave one when I drink but will gag when I try...

NO smoking or using tobacco of any kind for me, or for anyone in my household! Period. And as far as seeing any beneficial side effects from smoking, how 'bout an analogy with gas mileage that makes as good of sense: Take the airbags and seatbelts out of your car, and also remove the bumper reinforcements, and the doors... That will increase your MPG dramatically! Fact.

well to me if i see an adult smoking in front of a kid or a baby I think that endangers that child... I have borderline asthma because when i was a kid family and others smoked around me.. of course at that time it was legal to smoke in planes, restaurants, almost anywhere..

today it is illegal to smoke in restaurants (atleast in my state) and any place of work. so Arabian is correct that it is very harmful to children, as it can effect you for the rest of your life. I don't appreciate having to carry an inhaler around with me forever cause some idiot adult couldn't eat his meal without smoking, or because they were too mentally unstable to fly on a plane without sucking on a nicotine stick. I wish I could live in the western time zone in Cali or Oregon where some towns ban smoking ANYWHERE public, I'm sick and tired of trash smoking on the beach or the park and throwing their butts on the ground or people who smoke in their cars and toss a lit object out the window and it flies onto my windshield (in cali its a $1000 fine to throw a lit object out the window, again thank goodness for California!)

I'm all for freedom.. if you want to smoke then FINE smoke.. but when you endanger others with your 2nd hand smoke that is where I draw the line. you want to screw up your lungs? then that is your business.. just don't screw up mine. so Arabians point might have been outlandish but I see exactly where he is coming from.

i'm sure you all that smoke one day when you quit (either because you decide to or cause you get throat/lung cancer) will understand what us non smokers have to deal with cause of your stupid habit.

oh well thats my anti-smoker rant. lol.

I quit smoking 5 yrs ago this month-I'm 41. It plays a HUGE role in recovery from heavy lifting. Remember, recovery becomes harder as we get older.

you dont notice it because you smoke all the time, but for me just being around that shit all night at a party or something i wake up the next morning coughing and feeling like i cant breathe right.
