let me start by saying QUIT you dumb fuck.

and then reiterate by saying.

No it doesn't hurt your lifting all that much. It may make it harder to get lean though since it can make cardio more of a bitch.

Anything that effects your health can indirectly effect your lifting. But the smoking itself won't really hinder muscle growth unless it inhibits your actual workouts.

Theres actually some sort of benifit nicotine plays in losing weight. Tends to make people sweat more ect... There were a few topics on using nicotine patches. But it helps so little its not worth the smoke related damage and being addicted to a chemical.

YES. It is detrimental to your health, therefore detrimental to lifting.

YES. It is VERY detrimental to oxygen in the bloodstream which is also very crucial.

It's like excessive drinking... why throw away all your hard time in the gym for something so ignorant and WEAK.
 
yes it will effect your training, but U should be more worried about how it will effect your body and your life stop it and save a lot of money and spare you're body

How can you smoke when you are trying to build your body?
I used to smoke and be fat as a kid, now I'm lean and nonsmoking.
I can't possibly see the two hold hand in hand, smoking and lifting, and the few smokers in my gym have learned not to smoke when outside the gym, for I glare at them like death, because they are in effect, causing death to my feeling of wellness when I get out.

When you smoke, and I say this of experience, you are stealing the feeling of "weight orgasm" that you can easily get addicted to, and should get addicted to, if you wish to build a body to be recognized with.

After all, the body is your temple, and who wants to stay in a temple that is stuffed with smoke?

I'm 24yrs old. Been trying and trying and trying to quit smoking. I just have ONE Weakness, and that's cigs. I was able to quit drinking, quit smokin weed, quit masturbating so much : ) .. but man, smokin is the worst.

Your so young, you could easily quit right now with no REAL addiction. My little brother did, he's 16yrs old. I saw him walking down the street with a cig in his mouth. I pulled over and hit him so hard, I had to put him in my car and drive him to the hospital. He never smoked again... I'm down to 10 a day, and it still kills me in the gym.. I'm an above average sized guy, but I could be FUCKIN huge if I didn't smoke. To answer your question, It kills you, your muscles, you stamina, and you self confidence... shit, now that I said that I don't know why I can't quit...

Damn those cigs... I smoke about 4 a day but at the weekends when out I can smoke like 15 is 4 hours :( Its the worst damn thing in the world to smoke. I gave up for a week and I started smelling the stale smoke on other people... I become weak once the alcohol gets consumed :(

I think EVERYONE who smokes WANTS to quit... I NEVER smoke within 2 hours of going to or leaving the gym though... used to smoke 15 a day so I guess dropping to 4 is better. Damn, Id h8 to see what ny lungs look like and what damage has been or will occur. My parents have smoked since kids although my mom has infact been cig free for 12 months now!

My dad smokes rollups with no tip and maybe smokes 40+ (at least) a day. Its quite sad to see this and has a child think about the damage his lungs must have sustained after 40+ years of smoking!

I think its time to try and cut them out totally now for me so I can reap the benefit of the gym work im doing. To be honest, Im getting a real big natural buz from my training sessions now its quite amazing...

That is good you don't smoke before or after going to the gym. I am pathetic. I blow out the last puff in the gym and then I light up soon as I get to my car afterwards. And what's really bad is that I am breathing real heavy from doing legs or something and then I light up a smoke. Damn Ciggarettes. Quit kid.

Find some big dude that's around you often and tell him that any time he sees you puffin on those f'ing cancer sticks to totally knock the living shit outta you. I guarantee you you'll quit within a week.

Have you ever seen a lung removed from a smoker kid? It's about 1/2-2/3 the size of a healthy lung and tar black compared to the light gray of a normal one. YOU'RE KILLIN' YOURSELF!

i read some article in the paper that said the only thing that made smokers give up was when they got ill from it.

Addicts apparently dont even give up when members of their family got cancer from smoking.
 
Smokers are a drag.

1. They stink
2. They increase healthcare costs
3. Some of them act bloody anti-social, because they light up when there are non-smokers around as though it is their god-given right to pollute everybody's air and piss people off
4. They die younger on average and cause grief to their friends and families

And I apologize upfront for all smokers who are pissed off at my anti-smoking attitude, but actually... hang on - what am I apologizing for. YOU SHOULD STOP SMOKING!

Smoking does affect how fast u can gain.

First hand experience:

Last year when I didn't smoke (nicotine) I was training at 175lbs. 5'6" it took me a month and a half to get there

I stopped for a few months partied a little too much and now started again (3 mos. ago training) and it's taking forever to get back up there because I currently still smoke. . . but not for long

Whenever you get a nic fit head to the gym and just use that energy and focus in on the excercise. . . u won't even feel like smoking after

ps. smoking kills your appetite and taste for food.
