Smith machine bar weight?

What is the weight of a smith machine bar? I know its not 45lbs is it 25lbs??

Not sure where this would go but someone should know

Most all machines are different and most have the weight of the bar posted on a label on the machine.

of Smith machines have different drag on them. You can't really compare the weight to a free weight movement. Its like comparing a machine/stack load to free weight... apples and oranges.

I just make it easy and count it like free weights for keeping records.

there is different smith machines.....there is one in my gym that weights 85 pounds.....another one that weighs 65 pounds...the one that floats up and down has a specific name that i cant recall right now....it weighs almost nothing...u dont count the weight then u lift that i do know!

it depends on how the counter weight is set on most machines, just ask a gym employee they should know, even though for the most part they dont know jack shit.

most of the types that are counterweighted, and feel like they weigh nothing are couinterweighted to 15lbs.
