Smart people...HELP ME!!!!!

Satanic.....I do use my brain. The problem is that someone stole my art book at the library the other day and it has put me in shit creek with no padle. And my knowledge of art is very very limited. Plus I'm down to $12.50 cant afford to get another book. Maybe I should go to the library and steal someone elses art book :)

Francis Bacon thought Aristotle , an ancient philosopher, wasn't an authority to consult if one needed scientific knowledge.

Wow...check out the big brains on some of you :) Thanks for helping out...Mucho Gracias. What do you do with an art degree when you graduate? are you a Teacher??? Thanks to all of you....been a BIG BIG help.

you know, the usual, strip, sell myself on the street, sniff pencil shavings. I tell everyone that I'm a computer programmer, but it is all a lie that I live.
a lot of these questions should be answerable via a good net search on google.com - just put in the right key words and something is bound to come up - AND you might learn something (careful though, that can hurt)

1) European expleration began in the century when, for example, the first african slaves were brought to portugal...Whicg century?
http://debate.uvm.edu/dreadlibrary/mclean.html

2) The movement within the Roman Catholic Church to reform many of its practices is known as the ------------ reformation.
I remember well by soph year of high school, the teacher said in her thick southern accent "the chur hept issef whit da prostamation refamation on da stock do noppy."
I have NO FUCKING CLUE what she meant, but I remember that like it was yesterday b/c I asked her to repeat it in class and she said the exact same thing again. so I wrote it in my notes and it was etched into my memory. if you can get anything from that, I'd think it was something prot.... protestant perhaps? you never know.

3) --------- distrusts the power of art because of its tendencys to pull us in and make us think we see truth ( persons name)
nobody should trust art or artists. they are all a crazy lot. this is another good case for a web search since it looks like a quote.
I'll be they were either Russian or Indian though. they were the ones that didn't like art. and Hitler. he didn't either. although he stole a shitload of it and was a painter in his youth, but later he oppressed a shitload of expressionists.

4)The theology of ----------------- allows the living to ransom the souils of the dead.
don't mormons get to convert the dead to their religion? some shit like that? hence their huge family records of dead people. fuck if I know. again, web search.
sounds like Christianity or anything else to me, but I don't know religion from a hole in the wall.

5) DeVere, according to some, may be the true author known to most as ------------
Bootsy Collins. I don't know - probably Shakespeare since they are always debating that shit, and they will never really know.

6_ he wrote about Laura and the life of contimplation
I don't know, there was this girl Laura in some of my classes in high school that was pretty hot - I never wrote about her, but I sure contimplated doing some shit to her.
this sounds religious in nature again - what class is this? I tried to avoid classes that had religion in them. except for the religion classes. those I just avoided as a whole.
if it is midevial, there is a site about st theodore that has some of that shit:
http://www.fordham.edu/halsall/basis/theodore-sykeon.html

7) The history of the development of romantic love and art begins with -------------( a person) whose ideas about love were borrowed by some of the followers of ------------, a major world religion. Some of these followeres disguised the name of --------- by using human names to refer to the name in poems. Eventually, their poetry arrived in southern france where the --------------, a heretical group, passed the poetic on to wandering ---------------- who traveled much of europe singing of their unriquited love of their ladies.

far too many words for me to read that.

Francis Bacon thought ---------------, an accient philosopher, wasnt an authority to consult if one needed scientific knowledge.
someone alread answered this one.

The doctrine of the Euchartist ( the lodrs supper) which argues that it is to be an historical reenactment only ( "this due in rememberece of me") was put forth by the protestent reformer -------------------( a person)
this one has web search written all over it.plenty of good keywords like... well, all of them. and the quote esp

He covered the naked bodies in artistic creations because of the inherently conservative nature of the counter reformation. He was the --------------

one of the popes. many of the guys on the sistine chapel ended up with leaves over their units. a web search I'm sure will turn it up.
